Second child, third clutch of Alioetheus and Hoara. She is also a Gaolitchshade of the Excarcerator Order, to which her crystal-altering ability lends itself well.

Claudia was hatched alongside her two brothers -- one older and one younger -- while her parents were visiting her father's brother, Viitor the Foreteller. She was still young when she returned home with her mother, so Claudia doesn't remember the trip like her parents do, as much as she came to respect her uncle and his mystical position as she grew.

Like her older brother, Regis, Claudia carries herself with a noble air. However, the bearing with which she behaves is different from his. Regis has a cold loftiness about him, while Claudia is downright condescending. She casts glances at others with half-lidded eyes and a smile full of smug superiority. She laughs at how pitiful the masses are to her, seeing herself as a pristine jewel among common stones. It is largely for this reason that she and Regis are cold toward one another. Claudia somewhat grudgingly accepts that his position as higher than hers. This is in part because when she begins to lose herself to her grandeur, he sends a challenging glare her way reminding her of her position compared to his, and thus keeping her in check. A somewhat annoyed glance in return is her only reply. No words need to be shared between them to resolve their confrontation -- social standing alone is enough to settle would-be disputes.

Ashnyra, on the other hand, is only protected from her sister's pompous cynicism by Regis' intervention. Regis is protective of Ashnyra, but Ashnyra herself has difficulty standing up for herself. Despite technically being of higher rank (being the elder between them,) Claudia boasts openly and criticizes her less self-assured sister. Being an easy target, Ashnyra is often picked on, especially so since Claudia inherited special, reality-altering abilities. These come from the bloodline of their ancestor, Naomi, and is especially prevalent in Claudia. Ashnyra, by contrast, not only doesn't have any particularly impressive abilities from her bloodline, but is soft-hearted and sometimes considered somewhat un-Gaolitchshade in manner and thought.

Like Ashnyra and Regis, however, Claudia is meticulous about her fur. She keeps it carefully well-groomed, soft, fluffy, and clean. When she washes, she uses scented cleaning solutions which nourish the hairs and keep them strong and soft, too. Claudia also styles her fur, teasing it just enough to give it a little extra volume, while also stylishly guiding its shape and flow.

As for just what Claudia's special, inborn ability is, she can alter the composition of crystalline structures. That is, she can create faults and fissures within crystals of all sorts, including ice. This makes her perfect for creating openings in the icy prisons which encapsulate Shade pieces, through which such fragments of Shade may escape and rejoin the collective. However, she is also of a mind that she deserves to be served and despises the idea of performing any task that requires effort on her part. As such, she only does such jobs reluctantly and often complains, groans and sighs loudly for most of the mission. However, she's not much of a fighter, and refuses to hone any sort of combat ability. So, Claudia never goes on missions alone, instead taking a more combat-inclined Gaolitchshade with her as an escort.

Perhaps it is because of her special, crystal-fracturing ability, but she also doesn't actually see gemstones as all that valuable (and so she doesn't decorate herself or anything else in them.) Claudia does, however, love luxurious furs and even has an entire bed made up of a pile of them. Being a somewhat cruel Gaolitchshade, she takes pleasure in skinning creatures for their fur...including Beatclan members. During these hunts are about the only time she willingly enters combat and gets her claws dirty. Otherwise, she can usually be found lounging in luxury and lording it over whoever happens to be nearby.

Claudia acknowledges Regis' son, Einros, too, though she doesn't try to hide that she thinks of him as only just above the rabble. He doesn't try to argue with his aunt, who is an odd mix of younger than him while also being of a higher social standing than him: a fact that she often notes, as though he'd ever forget it. They sometimes work together on missions to free Shade fragments.
