Selene was born and spent her early life within the depths of Clan Abyss' territory. She had big dreams of following in her siblings' footsteps among the Tidedancers, but chronic fatigue syndrome prevented her from pursuing these dreams.

To quell her disappointment, her head is often in the clouds, her gaze often skyward; she found a fondness for the stars above, and when she decided to live on land - finding the constant need to swim too strenuous for her body - she pursued work under Clan Umbra's former head astronomer, Caelum.

She also finds solace in the fact that her elder brother, Lyktos, is with her both in the Priesthood and Clan Umbra in general. She looks up to him, and despite the fact that he can be a little overbearing at times, she appreciates his guidance and presence.

With regards to tidedancing, Selene is viciously bitter toward Oona, whom Selene believes threw away her blessed chance over foolish whims.

Dissatisfied still with living in the darkness, growing bitterness, and the fact that her brother is now rarely on clan grounds, Selene decided to once again leave the home she knew. With her interests in astronomy, she felt that perhaps the shimmering forests of the Arcane territory would be a more suitable place.

She felt a crippling loneliness in this time, however; unable to find a clan in need of another sky-watcher, she wandered alone among the starlight and glowing leaves, until she discovered an encampment deep in the wood, and oddly... a familiar face who left sometime before she did.
