Viriana came to Pergamon's old Arcane Home with a bit of a trouble tailing her. A servant accused of stealing from her previous employer, she was chased by dragons bent on getting their possessions back. But Viriana had nothing to return as she hadn't stolen anything in the first place.

She was looking for a new job when she happened upon Vergi, a high born dragon that had also just arrived at Pergamon clan and decided to start his own family there. Instead of a job Vergi offered to take her as his life mate. Proposal from a complete stranger made no sense and Viriana of course rejected the seemingly insane Skydancer, continuing her search for a servant position elsewhere. But her chasers had found her. They always did but this time it was much faster than before.

In her desperation she decided to accept Vergi's offer, on one condition, money. She was sure he would not have her or help her if he knew she was suspected of stealing, so she made up a story about a failed business and debt collectors that were after her. Her condition was that she received enough money to pay those "debtors". And for some unfathomable reason Vergi agreed. He didn't even insist seeing these debt collectors himself, so Viriana was able to quietly pay them the amount they were after, just hoping it would be enough as she had no way to return the items themselves, with little to no idea as to who actually stole them.

She briefly considered just disappearing after having finally gotten rid of her chasers, but she was already feeling guilty about lying and so she stayed. Vergi obviously got something out his arrangement with her so she decided to go along with it, for now.

Outside of this one impulsive thing he had done, Vergi turned out to be stiff and humourless, and a very stark traditionalist, who seemed to expect that she would settle in to the role of a perfect mate, pretty and well behaved, worthy of the status his family gave him. Something like that was anything but who she was and Viriana's life with him could have been terrible. But he seemed to respect her wish to keep things platonic, being mates in name only. And in time he started to show a softer side of himself to her, finally beginning to appreciate her as she was, not as he wanted her to be. Viriana began to see him as he was, a victim of his upbringing, but someone who could change. Not completely of course, but enough. Enough that she could see herself caring about him and becoming real mates. And maybe finally telling him the truth.
