Vergi is the second child of an influential high born family. He won't inherit the family fortunes but he has plenty enough to live a very comfortable life. He decided to settle down at Pergamon clan and start his own family. One day very soon after that a Skydancer came by, looking for a servant position. But she was beautiful, so beautiful that Vergi had trouble focusing while she introduced herself and started with her business. She was mild mannered too and good upbringing seemed to be evident in the way she behaved. He had no idea that people usually put on their best behaviour for such situations but he also only saw what he wanted to. Viriana was a servant girl, through and through. Vergi was impatient to start a family and here was this dazzling creature, right when he had moved into his new home. It felt like a sign so he asked her to become his mate and was dismayed when she turned him down.

But then she came back. Vergi listened to her story, about how she had owned a business but had ran on hard times and was now chased by debt collectors. He might have been suspicious if he hadn't been so impressed by her looks, so he agreed to pay her debts, just as long as she would agree to move in with him.

She was reserved and demure with him, but when he took her to parties and such he saw glimpses or Viriana who was untraditional, lively, constantly moving, dancing and singing. At first Vergi thought she would settle and calm down with time, accept the new role he cast her for and just be an image of perfection for him, but she wouldn't. Then for some reason he started to feel hurt that she didn't feel comfortable enough to show those true sides of herself to him. He was shocked to realize that what he really wanted to see was that dragon, not this well behaved thing she was at home, with him.

By that time he was a member of the newly formed clan Council and had met Garou, a Tundra who seemed to be very wise. Vergi went to him for advice and Garou told him very bluntly that he had a stick up his butt that he needed to remove if he wanted even a change at her returning his affections. It wasn't exactly the advice he wanted but after getting past being offended, he decided to take it. He had no idea how to do that, but he started to observe other dragons closely, going to the marketplace to see dragons of her social class. Initially they just seemed rough and vulgar, but he got used to it. It was helpful that a group of working dragons invited the "high and mighty councildragon" to a night at town. While they did initially mean to just mock the arrogant high born, they ended up having fun answering all the weird questions this pompous Skychicken had. And he was now THEIR councildragon.

His efforts paid off as Viriana was warming up to him, allowing him to see her smiles and dances. He wasn't sure if she would ever love him but it was enough that she wasn't so careful and reserved around him anymore. It was plenty.
