It was dark. Everything hurt. What was this Colony scum doing to his head? He didn't know, his mind dulled that he couldn't even think to move. "It's all quite fascinating." Ezra had heard the Coatl speak up, eyes lazily searching the dark room to try and find the face that was speaking. "You should be completely out from what I gave you. And yet your fear is keeping you as awake as it can... Do you feel the adrenaline? The panic? How I wish you could tell me. But, alas, if I did this without anything to relax your mind, you would be tossing around like earlier and risk all my hard work." The coatl said, his voice soft and full of excitement as his face leaned in close to Ezra's, all but examining the other's face with curiosity- and a smile on his own face. "You're managing to look furious, even now." He all but sang out- pausing as someone else entered the room. "Flynn." the voice started, the coatl seemingly irritated by the interruption "Hurry up with your work for today. Citadel wants you to meet with Creed- medical work or something. Says your expertise would be appreciated." Brief silence, before Flynn spoke "Appreciated by Citadel, or Creed?" He questioned, the voice huffing a laugh "Creed. But I'm sure you would love it to be by C-" a bang. Something metallic being shut. "I'm finishing up here. Get out, or you will be my next project, Faith." He said, earning a cackle from the other in the room. "My mind is already a mess. So good luck!" They said while rather quickly slipping out of the room, the Coatl sighing irritably before looking to Ezra with a smile. "Our work has only just begun, my friend." He said, reaching over to undo just what was holding him down- but not everything to let him freely wander the room. "Today was easy. These next few weeks are going to be so much fun! Keep your spirits up. I invite you to try." He said while he flashed a grin, Ezra giving a weak glare in reply- wishing he could say what he was thinking, but all he could do was try to rest for now, and prepare himself for whatever else was to come trapped inside the Colony.

Ezra was always seen as much more of one ready to talk down from a fight rather than get into one. But one day a fight came that he couldn't talk out of- Colony members had rushed in by order of Citadel to take all they could and destroy what was left, Ezra had to fight to protect his home, his family. He instructed his younger brother, Felix, to hide and to not come out unless things were quiet. But the only way things got quiet, was when the Colony won. Ezra was taken away to be put into their ranks as some fighter for hurting others. It was a life he didn't want. He didn't catch sight of Felix, taking some comfort in knowing they seemingly hadn't found his brother, but his own life was only going to get harder the second he entered the walls of the Colony. His first and worst introduction to any Colony member was Citadel himself. Having to hear his underlings explain how the raid went, how Ezra fought tooth and nail to try and drive them out. The second introduction was the dragon Ezra was stuck with for most of his life in the Colony. Flynn. For the next decade or so, Ezra was experimented on by the coatl and veilspun companion into being a loyal fighter for Citadel. It was like mind control, Ezra could barely remember anything he did, only remembered waking up from what felt like a deep sleep and finding himself patched up for injuries he couldn't remember. His eventual freedom came when Zach came with Felix and a few others to release him from the Colony. It was a blur for him, Ezra not entirely knowing these dragons or what was happening and trying to fight- but eventually he woke up from it from Felix, finally able to hug his brother again for over 10 years of the last hug. Adjusting to normal life out of the Colony is a constant battle and struggle for the sense of normalcy of not having to fight every day and night, and have a peace of mind from the horrors he witnessed and committed. He will never be who he used to be, that Ezra is gone. But he thinks the new Ezra could find a better life for himself. |
