Biography

Siethis
Hunter
A once jovial and proud hunter sporting an odd method of speech, Siethis is now an apprehensive shell of her former self.
In the beginning, Siethis split off from her pack to serve a dangerous assassin for glory and more tactical hunts. She became close friends with this assassin and her little sister.
Unfortunately, the assassin's sister was found captured and killed by a rival clan, and her boss' rage-fueled scheme for revenge went awry, sending Siethis directly into the maws of several hungry Toridae.
Surprisingly, Siethis survived this. The duo went on to later join the Covenant of Ichor and do odd jobs for them. Her disposition never changed, despite her grave condition, and Siethis happily took to the larger fields of practice the Covenant offered.

Siethis specialized in active, dangerous hunts where her delicate companion could not follow. But such lonely hunts left her vulnerable without rescue.
It was not long before her next scrape with the veil. And this time, it would surely have been her last.
That is, if not for the necromantic efforts of the Covenant.
She rose again from death, but this time different. The changes were less noticeable at first.
Lethargy. Unease. Sudden bouts of panic followed by various catatonic states became well-known to her closer companions. These symptoms were accordingly swept aside as mood swings, understandable side-effects of having experienced her end.

Then, the death of one of her beloved children, Ron, struck the final blow.
What was once just mood swings blossomed into wide array of long-lasting, worrying traits. Paranoia. Mania. Weakness. Hallucinations. Unrelenting episodes of depressiveness and desiccation.
And above all else, extreme eremophobia.

While this shift in her psyche made Siethis undesirable company to many, she was never entirely lost to the clan. Supported through these terrible times, one can begin to see her once sanguine demeanor occasionally blossom back to light in little moments of healing that bring with them the promise of recovery. It is this hope that has kept her companions so close all this time, and will perhaps one day leave her more than just a shell.

Until that point is reached, Siethis has been placed on indefinite leave from her duties to the Covenant. She can most often be found sleeping with her friends in the gardens, or protectively following her children as they go about their days.

The fang of a long-dead beast. Seithis carves into it her most cherished memories: Those of her hunts, and her family. Seithis claims to have killed the beast that once bore this mighty tooth and, although it seems utterly ridiculous, Rosanguis seems to back up this claim.

The pack will carry on.
Siethis sat quietly behind her pack as they bid their kin farewell, her wings draped loosely against the ground. Her breath caught heavy in her throat as the scene carried on before her eyes. Smells and colors alike began to blend together. Her beloved Ragnaron, the keen Kamaitachi, the ferocious Ailga, the cunning Raithis, the curious MapleStripe, the... the...
"Mah?"
The hunt continues .
Siethis was snapped out of her trance by six bright eyes staring earnestly back up at her; four red, two blue.
"Ailga! Kamai!" Siethis trilled, wrapping her claws adoringly around the sides of their faces. She pulled them closer and wrapped her wings around their bodies. "You make pack proud. So proud. May your claws ever be sharp..." Siethis turned to nip playfully at the edges of Kamaitachi's mane, who attempted to dodge with little success, "and your scent sharper."
"They will be!" Ailga insisted, rearing her head proudly. "Kamaitachi will find the prey, and I will hunt it."
"Mm-mm!" Kamaitachi nodded, his mane rustling as it shifted to and fro.
The contagion provides.
"You'll be hunting an awful lot of grass." Raithis' pitched voice cackled as he stalked away from Ragnaron and past his siblings, treading deeper into the lair.
"Well we would be if your sore-snout was in charge!" Ailga huffed back playfully as she tugged away from her mother's grasp.
"Can't hunt grass. Grass can't run." Kamaitachi added, wriggling free free as well. He shook his mane back into place.
The strong endure.
"I don't know about that. You could send anything running if you bared those teeth at it..." MapleStripe teased, sticking her tongue out as she trotted past.
"Hey!" Ailga barked, flapping her wings lightly. "That's it. C'mon Kam, we're headed for the Citadel."
Siethis kept her gaze fixated on the floor, but let her eyes wander upward until they rested right below where her mate stood. She heard him usher Ailga and Kamaitachi out of the lair's entrance, until it was just him and herself left.

"...Seithis."
The weak succumb.

She looked up and met her mate's concerned gaze. He stepped forward, out of the intense light, and fell into her embrace as though it were a second instinct. For a few minutes, there were no words between them. They swayed gradually together in the darkness of the empty lobby in placid silence, their wings tucked together and horns rested against the other.
Siethis wished these moments could have lasted forever.
Every moment is a fight for survival.
Alas, Ragnaron finally lifted his head away from hers. He looked as though he wanted to say something, but he couldn't get the words quite right.
"Write often." Siethis whispered.
"Of course, I will. I'll make sure Ailga and Kamaitachi do too." Ragnaron grinned with a conciliatory kindness, but the air was wrought with the same deep, unrelenting sadness.
Siethis didn't look up.
And not all will survive.
"Once we get settled, we'll fly back as soon as possible." Ragnaron added quietly, "For the holidays. Couldn't miss 'em."
Siethis wanted to ask again why he couldn't just stay. To corner and condemn the nocturne for abandoning her. To rake and claw his heart with pity until they couldn't possibly leave.
"And maybe you could visit us too. I'm sure the pups would love to loaf around the Sunbeam Meadows."
But when all seems hopeless, the opposition too fierce...
Siethis nodded effetely.
Ragnaron let his claws slip from Siethis'. She protested with a quiet, pitiful whine.
"We'll all be back, Sie. I promise." Ragnaron whispered as he continued to back away.
Remember our song, our cause, and our kind.
Siethis reached a paw out to Ragnaron as his shilouette became one with the blinding wall of light.
"Please..."
Ragnaron stopped and turned his attention back to Siethis.
Behold the pack's might, where the needs of many become the needs of one.
"Please protect them."
And any foe, regardless of size or might, may be undone.
"I will. I promise, if it's the last thing I do."
So when all seems bleak, our kin on the brink of defeat...
Ragnaron stopped one final time below the lair's arch, a dark form cloaked in brilliant light.
"Are you going to be okay?"
Remember this song, and remember that against all tragedies and strife...
"The pack will carry on."
