 As the name of their profession suggests, Xanna and Ash work with light itself: capturing it, manipulating it, fixing it in tangible form. They make lanterns, yes, and glowing stones, but also explosives and reservoirs of great magical power -- for what can be stronger than sunlight, the force which ultimately feeds all Sornieth? They make weapons to smite the undead and unholy, and sometimes they make unholy things themselves. They also make children, and teach them their craft.

Though the name "Lightsmith" suggests the working of metal, Anahira has taken the basic tenets of her parents' craft -- the trapping and solidifying of light's power and beauty -- and applied them to textiles. She weaves sunlight into dresses -- not just its glow, but its strength, its intensity, its all-encompassing importance. It's hard to look away from someone wearing one of Anahira's creations, no matter how plain they may appear out of it. This, of course, makes Anahira's dresses highly valuable and her services much sought-after -- and not just for vanity. Few other seamstresses can craft a ballgown that vaporizes any undead who come within ten feet of it.
