Biography
__._ |
One of many, one of the ones from before. When Undying and the White City were not joined by the hip. Wiesia remembered vaguely the light and the ever changing shapes of men at his mother’s side. He also remembered his father, bound by invisible shackles of tradition and rituals and a small gold ring. Aen was unhappy and he wanted Veda dead, even young Wiesia could see it. And he cared only little for it, because why should he? This was a thing between his parents and they had to leave him and his brother out of this. Evil tongues would call Wiesia cruel for being apathetic towards his father’s misery and his mother’s indifference. Should he really dive down into this pool of secrets, old bloodshed and political agony? No. And no one could expect him to do just that. Besides, if they wanted so badly for his father to roam free, one of his many other siblings and half siblings could be the one to bear this burden. He himself refused. He wasn’t even the heir to the White Throne, his eyes a darker shade of gold than usual dragons, yet nowhere near the unearthly glow his mother possessed, his younger sister had. And where Athalia read the future out of thin air and curling smoke, he had no special talent whatsoever to speak of. He was smart, but not overly so, knew his way around the city but avoided the conflicted area like the Gallows or Iron Feather. And then, like the day came inevitable to an end and night unfurled, the change came. Aen disappeared in twisting tendrils of shadow and the bramble of sudden blooming roses, never to be seen again and in his place, a new man stepped. He filled out the hole Aen left more than well, his mother was smitten with him and he was with her. It was perfect, a modern fairytale with twists and turns, with gods and demons, angels and deities about to be dethroned. In the first phases of the Emperor’s and The Queen’s marriage, he volunteered to move, just a sign of good will, if one wanted to put it like this. In reality, all he wanted was to break out of the eternal trott, always the same circles, the same conversations, the same everything. He hoped. But he wasn’t prepared for the truth, for what he got. The Undying Empire was different, certainly, eternal dawn and night, never quite day except the rare occasions when his mother came to visit. There were roses everywhere and strange figures that could only be seen from the corner of your eye. It was unnerving, it was not like he had expected home to be. The new husband was strange too, he radiated power and could be felt by every creature within the walls of his Empire, a cold, subtle yet undying presence that could not, would not go ignored. Wiesia fell in yet another hole, a child of no special talents drowning in a sea of siblings with far stronger, more dominant personalities than his own. Wiesia was, once again, without goal, aimless. And would that ever change? | ___ |
