Description: The mirror, warped and warbling, displays the wobbly image of an oh-so-dapper Bogsneak, admiring their fearsome visage in the mirror. A visage so striking, even the most powerful and fearless of dragons would quake. The one... the only... the Unspeakable Atrocity! A raspy, hissing cough of a laugh escapes their throat as two pinched claws glide across the brim of their hat, its parallel perfection truly adding a certain spooky je ne sais quoi to their look. The boss wants to see them? He'll see the best of them. Plaguebringer above, they can almost TASTE that sour-sweet-copper-smog promotion on their tongue. So the Unspeakable Atrocity waltzes into their boss' office, the confidence that comes with a job well done adding a rhythm to their steps. The Gaoler-in-chief himself is sitting behind his somewhat cluttered desk, with his characteristic mask set down as, with a somewhat heavy head rested upon one claw, the other flips through some sort of... File? Probably to adjust the Unspeakable Atrocity's schedule as they take on new responsibilities, thinks the Bogsneak! Catching a glimpse of their reflection in the inky puddles of eye on the boss' desk, the Gaoler seems to catch a glimpse of them right back. "Oh, uh, hey dude, come sit." The Unspeakable Atrocity happily complies, setting their decorative cane aside and letting their powers flare ever-so-slightly. And their boss closes the file with a sigh, before looking up at his employee. "Right, so- you've been with our exhibition for a little while now." The Unspeakable Atrocity nods and lets out another raspy chuckle. "And it's been a fantastic use of my talents, wouldn't you say?" The Gaoler's brow twitches a bit, though it's nothing the Bogsneak would notice. "Mmhm." He starts tapping a claw on his desk, the consistent movement catching in one of those dark puddles. "But you've been getting a little- like, overzealous. In a way my other employees here don't." 'But?' Why would that be a negative? The Unspeakable Atrocity fidgets in place a bit. "A simple passion for the craft, is all." Another sigh from the Gaoler. "It's- it's not- it shouldn't be a 'craft' first. It's a job! It's... It's for fun. Like, yeah, we're meant to scare people, but- not like you do. We're actors, dude, not... Whatever the hell you're trying to be." The Unspeakable Atrocity wavers slightly. "I'm not trying to be-" "Atlas, I'm not gonna let you talk and talk in circles about this. You almost burned somebody! With that- whatever you call it, that 'pestilent fire' of yours. Do you know what kind of **- what kind of lawsuit I could have on my hands over something like that? Not to mention, gods, the poor dragon! We'd all be out of a job, and them? I don't even know what would have happened." The Bogsneak can barely speak, debating taking their own mask off. "We all need time to refine our talents, if you just give me a chance-" "No, I can't. I can't put anyone at risk like that, and-" he sighs, paws clenching against the table. "I hate to say this, but I can't keep feeding your ego. I can tell this is some sort of weird- I don't know, villainous power trip for you. And that's not the type of dragon I want to employ here." They stay quiet this time. "So, uh... You're fired." There's a few beats of silence before he gets antsy. "We just have a few things to discuss, and then you can go..." The explanations and procedures barely register as the Unspeakable Atrocity stews in their own thoughts. They can feel their powers flickering out and dwindling as everything... Stands still, almost. Would probably go silent if not for their b- former boss' constant speech now, and those shuffled papers he keeps flipping about. An ego? A power trip? Of all the atrocious, terrible, unspeakable things to say- they halt their thoughts all at once. If they can't push their talents to their limit here, then they'll just have to do it elsewhere.
