Bright Bolt is good against Plague, Shade, Wind. Use contuse against any other enemies, it also reduces their attack strength so its good to hit each enemy in the pack once with contuse while your fighters knock one enemy down at a time.
When another slot opens add Regen or Aid.
As you level up, add stat points to INT/QCK only, more about that in those Guide links. Roughly twice as many INT points as QCK, depending how the points allocate best. Don't waste excess points anywhere else, they'll come in useful next time you level up to get one extra INT/QCK level.
