Biography
Memories of the facility are blurry for me, but I clearly remember when Taiyou and Tsuki smiled.
Rarely, but still.
I remember waking up the next day. It was the first time I saw the sun. We were in the forest, cold and wet, hugging each other. Taiyou and Tsuki were not sleeping, listening for potential danger all the time and looking around. The world was bigger than we thought when we were within our four walls. We knew what trees, sky, and birds were, but we never saw them.
Now I laugh thinking how scared we were.
We had to start moving. We didn't know where the nearest village might be, and hunger began to look into our eyes. So we chose the opposite direction to the outpost and started walking in that direction. For us, it seemed to take ages before we found anything. A single house in the middle of the forest with Grandma in it. We called her Grandma because she took us in and gave us our first home.
What a wonderful woman.
We lived with her for a good few years. It was she who showed us what the real world looks like and gave us names. Unfortunately, like all good things, it had to end sometime. Grandma started to get sick and one day she just sent us to her family. We didn't want it, but we agreed to it in the end. We realized that Grandma sensed that her life was coming to an end and wanted to keep us safe.
Since then, a new chapter has begun in our lives.
We wandered until we reached plague territory. Of course, we were concerned, it didn't felt like a cozy place. But we finally got to our final destination. What we saw was a clan full of children of war and strange creatures. They welcomed us like a family we haven't seen for a long time, without asking for anything. This is how we ended up in our second and final home.
It's good to be home.
