Biography
I don't know what those kids were about. They were strange, unique. Unlike the rest of the objects we created, they lived the longest. I wonder if they're still alive. And whether they are together. Hah, they definitely are. It was extraordinary to see the meaningless objects for which we had them, loving each other, enclosed within four walls, invented amazing games and told stories. Everything in the breaks between tests.
Yes, their love was... amazing. I remember when 009 and 010 met for the first time. Of course, they were scared at first, but then, as the meetings went on, they began to be friends more and more. 009 was always more energetic and quite more developed than 010. From the moment 010 met her, he quickly caught up to her level. He was calmer, he approached all the tests with patience. They were like twins, two sides of the same coin. Seemingly completely different, but understanding each other like no one else.
The twins had blood problems. It wasn't normal, the blood was primal shadow dragons dark and slimy. 010 had no major problems, but 009 had frequent nose and mouth bleeding. I guess that was a side effect of the whole hybrid idea. But we were yet to find out, in a rather painful way.
And then 033 showed up. All three had these strange black eyes, so when 033 got older we decided to introduce her to our twins. She was 5 and they were 11 if I remember correctly. Since meeting her, they have started to change.
Unlike the twins, she wasn't that glum, mostly because she hadn't experienced what they had yet. She smiled a lot, especially around 009 and 010, who played with her a lot. I have the impression that she was the cause of the events that followed. They didn't want her going through what they have experienced.
A year passed then. The breakthrough was the attack on the doctor who was in charge of 009. The twins stunned the doctor and went to 033. They tried to escape with her, but were caught. We separated them after that, we didn't think they could pose such a threat. I remember that the kids experienced it terribly. They refused to eat, refused to obey orders, refused to talk. Some doctors said that punishments would be the best medicine. Stupid little people playing gods. I still regret being one of them.
Their condition was terrible. I tried to get others to bring them back together, but to no avail. Then I made a mistake, although looking at it now it was the best I could do. Seeing how badly their separation was affecting them, I decided to secretly bring them together. At night I came to 010 and took him to 009. As soon as they saw each other, they started crying and hugging each other. I left them alone and went for 033. When I got back, they were gone. Or so I thought. The last thing I remember is an empty room and a sudden head blow.
When I woke up, the children were gone. There was black goo and melting ice everywhere. While escaping, they were noticed. It was also then that they activated their abilities for the first time. 010 and 033 were unsuccessful hybrids, they only had single element abilities. But 009 was our first major success. She was not a perfect hybrid, her eyes and appearance pointed to light, but she did use shadow powers. Unable to control their powers, they were also injured themselves, but eventually managed to escape.
Others never figured out that I was the reason they ran away, they thought the kids got out on their own, and I just got overwhelmed. Thanks to this, I was able to get away from the consequences.
We never found them. Soon after, the entire organization collapsed after one of the doctors went crazy and released the rest of the objects. It was the end for our hybrid project.
I hope the kids managed to survive. Experimental, black-eyed children.
