For the longest time Euclid thought that other dragons, even her closest friends actively ignored her. She wasn’t sure why she came off as prone to such disregard. It would be small things, such as no dragon responding to her input during conversations or similarly, her peers returning her inquiry with silence. She grew to have a long fuse, flexible and tolerant of situations that she inevitably had to accept on her own when assistance was lacking. Eventually, after a particularly poor day, Euclid snapped at one of her companions, demanding to know why everyone always ignored her. What she learned, however, was that it was actually her that had “gone missing.” It seems that she was not prone to disregard, but prone to blinking out of existence. News to her. Every occasion that she had recalled being actively ignored, she hadn’t noticed anything amiss about her surroundings, but her friend reiterated that on such occasions, stretches of time would pass where no dragon of the lair would lay eyes on her nor catch the sound of her voice. Everyone had just assumed she was off by herself somewhere, not standing right next to them somewhere between planes of reality— not generally an obvious conclusion to come to. It must have been an artifact of her bloodline.

Euclid was patient. She understood. That night she both laughed and cried, and the next morning she left her home lair, suddenly emboldened to travel and rediscover herself.
