Amaranth is one of Shal'anir's healers; a long-time friend of both Servin, Eidolon, and Phalanx, and now one of the queen's loyal followers. She wasn't as closely tied to the old clan Eidolon and Phalanx came from, but had spent some time there whilst working with Servin, and had been distraught to hear of the gruesome end the clan had been met with shortly after her departure. Much like Servin, Amaranth wandered from clan to clan as and when she was needed, rarely looking up on the battlefield of the broken to see her old friend working over another dragon that had been cut down just a short distance from her. The sight of the two of them together had always been a hollowing one - both of them are incredibly talented healers and work well alone, so it's only when the outlook is most dire and the patients are stacking up quicker than they're being healed that both would be called in at the same time to try and stem the inevitable tide.
Now that both seem to have stayed at Shal'anir, it's not necessarily such bad news if Amaranth and Servin are seen together. Back when they were students of their craft, the kind-hearted Amaranth was one of the only dragons who could stand Servin's blunt disposition, and the two were quick to become fast friends both on account of that and the mutual respect they hold for one another. Now, Amaranth is the one dragons may also go to when they need healing, with a much more patient outlook that sees her be the most favourable of the healers, but it must never be mistaken that she's not frightening in her own right. Servin cannot, or will not, move to attack an enemy unless he really has to, often preferring to shield and block his patient from the blows and hold his ground until another comes to help him. Amaranth, however, is not besides suddenly whipping around with fury in her eyes and the power of the tides at her beck and call should another trifle with her while she's working; flaring her wings wide and quite literally drowning out all around her in an effort to protect her patient.

 APPEARANCE Crystalline scales the colour of blood and sooty paws, with wings the colour of the midnight skies above, mean that Amaranth is a beautiful dragon to look at. She's very colour-coordinated, taking a particular liking for roses, and has as much pride in her appearance as she does her craft. Very handy that her darker colouration also hides the blood of her patients and enemies alike. |
PRESENCE Has a very calming presence, watching from the sidelines and providing silent comfort and support as the natural motherly dragoness that she is. It's a marvel that she hasn't had her own clutch yet, but Amaranth insists that her patients are like her own children in and of themselves. Dragons are still trying to work out if that's a highly-veiled insult or not. |
HISTORY Amaranth was tutored alongside Servin and other fellow healers, and is one of his oldest friends. When they both excelled in their craft and were sent out on their own, the two didn't see much of each other, but now that they both live under Shal'anir's banner, they spend a lot of time together. They do have friendly competition occasionally, but it's never apparent who is actually winning. |
