A bunch of the dragons in the clan say I am too obsessed with crystals
"Too obsessed with crystals? There’s no such thing. You can never have enough crystals, especially the really pretty ones, and yours are such a vibrant colour! The only crystal I have as part of my body though is the amethyst in my stomach, but someday I hope to have a whole rainbow of crystals!"

The Mines

Septaria is in charge of the mines that run throughout the clan territory, and her obsession love for crystals is even more obvious down there. She has given sentience to many gemstones in the mines, and treats them like her own children.

RP Scenarios

W2: Earth and Wind
Septaria gazed up at the top of the mountains, wondering what may lie beyond. Surely not anything good... perhaps it would be safer to find a way underground, even if it wasn't exactly safe either it would at least bring her comfort to be in a familiar environment.

More and more holes in the ground became visible the longer Septaria looked for them, littering the mountainside in various shapes and sizes. Some looked weathered, while others looked more recent.

Judging by how many there were, it seemed that whoever resided in the area had the same idea. After all, layers of rock are one of the best natural shields for radiation.

There are a few holes in the side of the slope a ways in front of the Snapper. A couple of fresh looking ones, a couple smoothed out by years of harsh winds, and one that was rather misshapen when compared to the others...

Septaria wandered past each of the holes, glancing down each one to see if anything was down there. Then she reached the misshapen hole. It definitely seemed odd, and in a place like this it was most likely hiding something dangerous, but the urge to explore was very convincing...

The holes were empty, even the misshapen one. They did seem to continue much deeper into the mountain, however, leaving the question of what exactly was lying in wait down there.

Of course, there was the chance that whatever was there was friendly, and just couldn't dig a hole. One could only hope that was the case.

The hole itself was ragged at the edges, and initially shaped more like an impact crater than a claw-dug hole. It was cause for concern - whatever was inside could have the ability to collapse the entire tunnel in an instant, burying whatever or whoever was inside under loads of rock and dirt. Not to mention, the looks of the hole suggested whoever did this had more than enough power to blast through solid rock.

If Septaria was willing to risk it, she might find something interesting at the end of the tunnel.

She decided it was at least worth looking at. Besides, if it was a crater impact, it likely meant there was a meteor of some kind - the perfect source of rare crystals to discover. Despite the unsettling feeling of perhaps finding something more sinister down there, Septaria climbed into the misshapen hole and began to wander down further...

The tunnel got wider and smoother just inside the entrance. It was fairly level, only going down slightly every couple minutes of walking.

…It was really long. What exactly dug this?

Suddenly, the tunnel starting sloping downward quite sharply. At the bottom of the slope, a faint light was visible. It almost looked as if there was an open cavern up ahead.

Septaria thought she might as well keep going, it at least seems to be providing shelter from the harsh outside. Plus she would feel a lot better in a cavern then out in the open anyway.

She still had a slight nagging feeling in the back of her mind, but she pushed it aside and pressed on.

As the Snapper approached the light at the bottom of the slope, a metallic sound became audible. She continued as planned, but with a little more caution.

Creeping down the tunnel was a little difficult, but worked in Septaria's favor. She would have a head start on getting out if whatever was down there decided to charge.

She got to the bottom, slipping unceremoniously down the last few inches to rest at the bottom. The light bathed the female in a mix of color, predominantly green and yellow.

Now that she could see into the cavern, she found the source of the metallic noise.

A large construct looking vaguely like a Pearlcatcher stood with its back to Septaria, glowing green and yellow. It seemed to be something mechanical, and had what appeared to be a large, three-pronged rod on its back. It hung over its left shoulder, inactive.

The creature was devouring a pile of silvery-grey rocks, crunching the ore with sets of superstrong teeth. A similar vein of silvery rocks were embedded in the cavern wall in front of the construct.

It paused, stepped back, and the rod on its back charged with a sudden electrical hum. After a moment, it loosed a large projectile of bright plasma at the wall, which shook the walls and widened the cavern even more. A bit of stone on the ceiling crumbled and fell, some of it falling onto the observing Snapper.

The blast knocked off a new pile of rock, which the mechanical Pearlcatcher swiftly began to eat once more.

It seemed to be unaware of Septaria's presence, too engrossed in feeding.

Septaria was tempted to take a closer look at the ore the thing was feeding on, but thought it best to leave. She began creeping backwards out of the cavern, looking back a few times to see where she was stepping but still trying to keep an eye on the thing, just in case. She just hoped nothing would cause the thing to turn its attention towards her...

As Septaria's foot hit a stray rock that had fallen from the ceiling, the Pearlcatcher paused. Its modified wings twitched, and a small pulse of electricity shuddered through the construct.

After a tense moment of stillness, it went back to eating the ore. It was almost finished now, and the grey vein in the wall was nearly depleted. The slope behind Septaria was difficult to creep up backwards, wasting precious time.

At least, that's what she thought. As she backed up, she hit into something that wasn't there before. A wet-sounding growl came from above her head, and she could hear something drip onto the stony floor beneath her feet. Something large and threatening was lurking directly behind her.

Septaria stiffened. Coming here was a huge mistake. She slowly moved her neck to take a peak of what was behind her, involuntarily holding her breath. She dreaded to think what she may see...

The sight that greeted the frightened Snapper was one of a walking nightmare. A giant wormlike creature blocked the tunnel, it's sizzling drool dripping onto the floor. Teeth lined the single hole in its face, presumably its mouth. It emitted a harsh grating sound as Septaria turned, catching the attention of the mechanical Pearlcatcher.

Said Pearlcatcher stilled in its feast, head twitching in the direction of the sound. It turned, claws scraping along the rocky floor. As its cyan eyes hit the worm, it immediately dropped into a ready stance, calling out to the distracted Snapper it saw in front of the beast. Electricity crackled along its body.

"Hail, citizen, I advise you to move at least three steps to your right!"

Septaria thought best to listen to the dragon, and took several steps to the right, hoping not to be caught in whatever was about to happen.

The Pearlcatcher seemed pleased at Septaria's compliance, allowing a bit of a pleased hum to leave his throat.

That was short-lived, however, as he charged head-first into the worm's front. Steam shot out from the dragon's leg joints as it grasped onto the worm with the front half of his body and began to pull. The Pearlcatcher moved too fast for the worm to retaliate, picking it up clear off the floor and sending its long body careening into the far wall where the rock vein once was.

Out in the open, the full worm could be seen.

It was a dark, rocky color, lined with leglike appendages. It was rather short for a worm, with a plump and wrinkly body. Honestly, it looked more like a stretchy centipede than a worm...

It quickly regained its bearings after being slammed against the wall, hissing loudly at Septaria and her newfound protector. The Pearlcatcher fired its shoulder cannon once more as the beast lunged forward, filling the chamber with smoke and blasted pebbles.

He acted quickly, picking up Septaria and placing her on his back without a word and turning to race out from underground, the worm in hot pursuit.

Septaria seemed to be in a daze of some kind, everything was happening so fast. It was either that or the terror of the worm creature that froze her in place. Well, at least this dragon seemed friendly - clearly being concerned for her safety and now bringing her out of harm's way.

Septaria's mechanical mount burst out from the tunnel at breakneck speed, dislodging her onto the ground unceremoniously. He turned, the cannon already charging, to face the tunnel where the worm was coming back into sight.

He fired a very large, glowing projectile into the tunnel's mouth, making the worm emit a scream as the tunnel began to collapse on top of it. Heavy rocks fell to seal the entrance, trapping the worm somewhere within underneath the stone.

The Pearlcatcher spun to face Septaria, smoke emitting from his cannon. He spoke with an authoritative tone, tinged with a hint of exuberance. His face remained fairly blank.

"My deepest apologies for the sudden ride, citizen. I expect you are in fair condition?"

"Oh, yes, I'm ok," Septaria rolled back up onto her feet, shaking slightly to dust off.

"Thank you for saving me," Septaria gave the pearlcatcher a smile, not entirely sure if he'd understand what it meant considering his lack of expressions.

Seeing the smile, the Pearlcatcher twitched, then gave a smile of his own. Something was definitely a bit off about him, but it didn't seem like he meant any outright harm. Now that the two were in a light environment once more, one could see that many parts of the mechanical dragon's body were speckled with rust.
Perhaps that had something to do with it. The air in the Zone could damage even the hardiest of wiring.

The male hummed upon hearing Septaria's response.

"A satisfactory statement to my ears! You are quite welcome, citizen. It is the Paladin's duty to aid those in need."

Presumably, he means himself. The guy seems pretty dedicated.

"I am Danse. I protect the Zone's denizens from the many dangers that lurk here. You don't seem familiar. Are you new here?"

"I am new, yes," Septaria smiled wider at the pearlcatcher's attempt at a smile, "I heard a couple of my friends mention this place and I knew I had to see it for myself. My name is Septaria."
