Traxex's Mate




Such a plain looking coatl was he. Who could learn to love someone so bland and lacking. Black, black and black. Dark as night, as sneaky as a shadow. He clearly didn't stand out amongsg the crowd, and that displeases the dark toned coatl. Comatose craved to be noticed, to be loved and to be heard. Don't all Coatls want that? He held a linage of a proud breed. Flashy, vain and clearly bright.

The male dragon looked down upon himself, bright pink eyes gazing upon his pelt. What a disgrace! What a misfit! He would think about all the others in his lair that possessed the same breed as he. They were bright, beautiful and stunning. All the things he wished he had. A frown settled upon his features, making the feathered creature slouch and think. Oh what could he do to further . . . enhance his looks? Perhaps he could dress up, or add some make up. Had seen many fellow dragons do that. They'd deck themselves in the finest of silks, or in the shiniest of armor.

So he did, he tried out many things. Ranging from rainbow colored robes to simplistic teardrop accessories. Nothing fit! Nothing seemed to work!

And so, Comatose found himself back where he began. Bland, lifeless and lost. It's not like a dragon like he was much of a fashionista, so thinking of things to wear didn't come out so naturally. Yet another frown settled upon him, making him once again, think really hard.

"What to do, what to do." He mumbled to himself, once again looking around for answers.

It was night time, and the atmosphere stayed still and calm. The moon shone bright upon the clan he lived in. Everyone was asleep, the sounds of snores clung in the air. Slowly, he trotted away. Footsteps silent, breathing steady, never uttering a word. He simply followed where his feet would take him. As if wishing that destiny might bring him to someplace miraculous.

He made his way towards a small body of water. Per say, a small pool of water. No bigger than a puddle. Oh but it did glow brightly, illuminated by the moon's light. Something so simple, so small, seemed to have been enhanced. The arcane dragon grinned brightly, tail wagging in excitement. He had an idea!

Slowly, he dipped his two front claws into the water. He was born of arcane magic after all, his magic was flexible. So instead of pulling out water, out came a glittering goo. Silver and a little opaque.

Gingerly, he started drawing swirls and intricate patterns upon himself. Decking himself with the finest of silver upon his wings and crest and body.

When he was finished, he looked polished and new. Comatose stood up straight with his head held high, knowing that he had achieved a look no other coatl could have!
