Alternifolia

Alternifolia is the son of BlueSpruce, the son of Darletta, the son of Ilan, the son of Cataphract, the son of Spellweaver, the son of Jack, the son of Lantern, the son of Mercor (#988). His mother, Cypress, is the daughter of Eostre, the daughter of Hypnotiq, the daughter of Sapph, the daughter of Mary, the daughter of Aislynn, the daughter of Rhiannon (#37051).

Alternifolia hatched in a lair in the Gladeveins, and shortly after he grew to adulthood a hatchling Snapper arrived whom he was told to look after. As his birth clan began pairing off those of its residents who were not planning on entering the Gladekeeper's service or seeking homes elsewhere, it was natural that Alternifolia and Snowflake would assume that they were being deliberately paired together as well, especially when they were both sent to join Katyushka and Ojnk in the Sunbeam Ruins upon the Solar Solar's request for immigrants. Their misapprehension was corrected upon their arrival - but they decided to have at least one nest together anyway. After that, though, they decided not to nest together, just to work together to train new clanmembers and defend the lair; Snowflake had several different mates, but Alternifolia and Photini decided that their children were maximally beautiful, and had many nests together.

Eventually, Alternifolia's iridescence was replaced by odd, poisoned swirls; his next nest with Photini had two eggs in it, and the first to hatch, Delectable Tea, went back to Alternifolia's birth clan to live! (The second, Deadly Poison, changed his name to Pietrov and found a home in an Arcane clan.)

After thirteen more eggs, Photini set off to another Light clan, to train its dragons to serve the Lightweaver; this was just before another quest for elemental dominance. After that quest concluded with Light in dominance (as all knew it would), Alternifolia and Snowflake had a second nest together. The two hatchlings from that nest were not particularly visually appealing to either parent (or each other, for that matter), and they departed the Solar Solar almost before they had been named.

During the Thundercrack Carnivale after Light secured dominance thrice in a row, Alternifolia's birth clan moved to the Sunbeam Ruins!
