Basilisk
The Progenitor
(and head researcher)

knowledge is power
Carved from stone and given life, Basilisk is the loyal leader and progenitor of her clan. She is a skilled huntress, so long as her prey is flightless and far from the sea; her dense body makes her a poor flier and an even worse swimmer.

Although Basilisk shares her role as a progenitor with Parrot, their relationship is more platonic than romantic, and they only serve as mates for the purpose of childbearing - although they're extremely successful and close-knit research partners. She has many, many descendants, most of whom no longer live in the clan.

Basilisk is curious and intellectual, and frequently travels far for her research, leaving Parrot behind with their children. She's always careful to return with shiny baubles for the little ones, and more supplies and raw data relevant to their research. She and Parrot are currently attempting to figure out the nature of inorganic constructs - particularly Gyres, like her familiar Sowlio.
