Well, you're a new face around here. This must be your first time visiting. You can call me Donall. That's not my real name, of course, that is valuable information that I don't want to fall into the wrong hands. I am the unofficial greeter and guide to this market. Allow me to explain.
They say that if you get hopelessly lost on the night of a new moon, and your pockets are heavy with treasure, and your head is filled with worries, you might just be lucky enough to stumble across the Shadow Market. You cannot find it on any other night, and never in the same place twice. Should you find yourself in the Shadow Market, you best make use of the opportunity that Fate has granted you. You see, the Shadow Market is a place of magic. And not necessarily the good kind.
You can find anything your heart desires here, for the right price. And not all of the vendors deal in treasure. Do you wish for a new familiar? Some herbs or crystals? Spells, potions, charms? Do you want your fortune told, to travel anywhere in the world in an instant, to speak with the dead? Would you like to eat the best foods you will ever taste, do you need your own potion ingredients, do you seek ancient knowledge lost to the rest of the world? Need help remembering something you've forgotten, or forgetting something you remember? Do you wish for healing of a loved one, or harm to befall an enemy? Do you want to become young again, to find love, to become a new dragon, to escape your old life, to become immortal?
Anything you could possibly ask for, and you can find it at one of the stalls in the Shadow Market. Just be careful. Hold tight to your treasure, there are thieves about. Beware what you eat, who you accept gifts from, who you make deals with, and what you agree to. Be prepared to see the impossible. And above all else, be careful what you ask for. Do not forget that this is a place for magic users, both good and evil, and for the desperate.
Be quick, because the Shadow Market disappears at dawn. Its vendors travel with the market all around this world, and a few others. They have abandoned their past lives, friends and family if they had them. Our regular customers chase the market, seek it out every night it appears. They, too, have abandoned their lives and loved ones, or are in the process of doing so. For some, it is a small price to pay for the wonders that we offer here.
Now then, a huge market that sells anything your heart so desires? And you only have until dawn before it disappears, maybe forever? That can be quite daunting. Where do you begin? That's where I come in, you see. With my magic, I can read you and your heart's innermost desires. I can lead you to the stalls that can help you, sell you what you want or need. I can be your guide to the Shadow Market, tell you all you want to know about it, answer any questions, protect you from thieves and hustlers and liars and fakes.
Though, my services are not free, and many prefer to explore the Shadow Market on their own. Many do not like how I can read them like an open book, they find it invasive, and turn my offer down. I take no offense to those who do not take me up on my offer, though most come to regret it when dawn comes and they have not yet found what they seek, or they realize someone has tricked them out of all their treasure.
