Scholar and Student

A student of the arcane. Rostrum was once an assistant cataloger in the Observatory, tucking away scrolls and books the Arcanist was finished with or used in research by other scholars. He's never met the Arcanist himself, and likely never will. After growing up in the Starfall Isles, Ros has come to the conclusion that before he can become a Master of the Arcane, he needs to discover what the world at large has to offer. The Scarred Wasteland was his first stop after leaving the Isles for the first time. It has been great culture shock for him. The Isles are full of dreamers and scholars, masters and students, dragons so focused on their own goals they rarely look up from their own work to see what's going on around them. The Scarred Wasteland seems to be full of dragons who have never even touched a book or scratched a single rune in their entire lives. Plague dragons run on instinct, savagely attacking each other on whims that seem imaginary or completely arbitrary. And yet, they live like this, pitting themselves against each other, sometimes to the death. The violence, the upheaval is commonplace, it's expected.

Ros isn't upset by the violence, though he isn't violent himself. He accepts it as the nature of the area, the culture of the lair. He studies under Sinew, who is eager to have a student. Ros likes to ask a lot of questions, the exact kind of student that Sinew likes.
