Ironblood Patriarch

If there is one thing besides fine summers the City of Lamps has in spades, it is, apparently, wealthy expatriates. Hailing from a distant, equally sunlit empire, Dracamo is long-suffering mate to the Iron Baroness, arriving in Val-ar-Aion due more to the whims of his marriage than any particular affection for the summer country. The climate agrees with him- the reason for his posting here does not. Regrettably, he and his mate rarely seem to agree on anything. Dracamo is something of a bleeding heart, and has a practiced respect for art and nature- Atraire, however, only sees beauty in wealth and power. To the Valari, their union is a very quizzical arrangement. Why should two people who can scarcely suffer each other's company decide to spend their lives together? What a strange and intolerable custom, that keeping a bloodline lofty and pure could be worth so much heartache.

Nevertheless, Dracamo finds little joys where he can. He has taken a keen interest in the affairs of the Chapel and their charitable works, donating generously from Ironblood coffers in support of various projects, with the fruits of his generosity displayed prominently- his fortune has seen not only countless pilgrims clothed and fed, but the ancient Orrery itself restored from rubble. The city's merchants grow fat and happy from Ironblood patronage. One could almost suspect him of spiting his mate's ambitions, the way he spends so frivolously- and one would not be entirely wrong. Chiefly, however, one would find that despite his haughty lineage, Dracamo truly does enjoy sowing health and prosperity wherever he goes, whether he chose to be there or not.
