Glade's a quiet dragon. He rests his eyes, listening to the sound of a distant waterfall deeper in the caves. There are dragons bustling around him, some of which are his relatives. Conversations are carried across the breeze from the entrances to the caves.
Things weren't always this peaceful. Glade knows this better than anyone else in the village. Its claws itch, and it pushes down his thoughts. Dragons try to talk to him sometimes, but he doesn't talk back to them, at least not with his voice. For their own sake. Most dragons think it lost its voice somehow back when things weren't peaceful. They're right and wrong, he supposes, sighing and opening his eyes. It's getting dark. The area is mostly deserted now, everyone either moved on or went home. Clover's talking to him, asking him a question. Glade opens his mouth, and a voice that sounds like his says something in dark, seeping words, in a language beyond his own mind. He's a quiet dragon. -- The oldest dragon in the town, Glade keeps to itself unless it's needed. Most of his time is spent in a seeming meditative trance towards the darker backs of the caves, oftentimes near waterfalls or other water. He enjoys watching the younger dragons talk and change things, accepting the fact that times move on from when he was young and he can't change that. To it, change is a fact, not an action, and anything is better than the darker time it grew up in. While it used to be a commanding leader of the town, nowadays it never speaks. Some dragons think he sustained injuries in a conflict back when he was a young adult, others speculate that something more sinister took place. Glade makes no effort to intercept any of these rumors, and his kids refuse to comment as well. They do speak of a certain exiled "farmer" very terribly. |
