Biography

Fruitbat was out scavenging when he saw it. What is "it", you ask? A bush. A bush with strawberries growing on it.

And Fruitbat loved strawberries.

Licking his lips, he strolled closer to the bush. He stole a glance behind him, and, not seeing any of his gathering buddies nearby, ripped the entire bush off the ground and very carefully shoved it into his sack.

You see, Fruitbat is very destructive for his gentle looks. He also, unironically, loves fruit. He could sniff out a single grape in his sleep, and he has! Because of Fruitbat's unrelenting love of fruit, his entire clan had to seal away their fruit stores in a massive gold vault.

Fruitbat was so hungry for fruit that as soon as he figured out where the vault was (somehow) he opened it with only one of his talons.

Fruitbat, after stuffing the bush in his sack, casually walked back to his scavenging group. He whistled calmly as he fell in line at the back. Secretly, he hated being in the back because it meant that after a possible bad day of scavenging (which was most days) he would face all of his clan leader's anger and disappointment at the group. He blew off this knowledge because at least he could eat fruit after being yelled at.

The group rounded a grove of trees and all members of the group entered the camp. All except for Fruitbat, that is. He'd caught sight of a shiny blueberry laying inconspicuously on the ground. His mouth bent into a happy grin as he trotted to the blueberry and reached to pick it up. The berry stubbornly pulled away, stopping a few feet from Fruitbat's talons. The red Tundra thought nothing of it until he realized that fruit can't move. He shrugged and kept following the berry, for it slid away as he drew nearer. nothing would stop him from getting his fruit. Nothing.

It took him a good five minutes of stomping over rocks, streams and even an anthill before the tricky blueberry stopped enough for him to catch up and eat it. He quickly spit it back out. "Yuck!" He exclaimed. On closer examination, he found that the berry was made out of plastic, and tied around it was an impossibly thin piece of string.

Fruitbat looked around, suddenly petrified. The realization dawned on him. Someone had tricked him into coming here, but who? Where even was he? He hadn't been paying attention to his surroundings at all.

Suddenly, there was a rustle in the leaves of a towering tree above him. He looked up, his breath catching in his throat. There was a few seconds of silence before Fruitbat calmed down. Right when he turned to leave, a massive figure cloaked in dark green silks and holding a dark green burlap sack erupted out of the forest in front of him and charged at him, not making a sound. It seemed like its feet weren't even touching the ground.

Frozen in shock, Fruitbat stood there, mouth agape, until the figure stopped in front of him and smacked him over the head with a log, rendering him unconscious.
