StarKing

As you continue on, you wander down the halls and revel on the last meeting you just had with the previous dragon. Before you can continue any father, however, a Spiral going past wearing dusty attire and arms full of artifacts catches your attention as he makes his way past to another door inside this long hallway. "Hello," you start tentatively, trying to catch his attention, since aside from the dragons you met earlier, he seems to be the only dragon around. He startles, nearly dropping all the dirt-covered items in his arms, then a black and golden sparkly head with dark purple eyes pokes out above the stack in his arms. "Oh, well, hello there," he says kindly. "Sorry, with all these artifacts, I didn't see you there. You see, I just returned from a dig in Dragonhome with some of my clanmates," he explains, and you note the tools hanging from a belt around his waist, and a heavy-looking backpack strapped around his shoulders. "Dragonhome?" you wonder aloud, as you can tell by his eyes that he's a Shadow dragon. He smiles, then chuckles, and lowers his head a moment. "Yes, I know. What is a Shadow dragon doing on an archaeological dig in the Earth realm, and much less living in a clan in the Wind lands? I know, I'm an oddity," he says, and chuckles lightly again. Then, realization strikes his face and he says "Good gracious, where are my manners? Here, let me set my things down, and properly introduce myself," he says, then continues down the hall until he reaches a door to his left and opens it with a free hand, balnacing everything in his arms. The Spiral then opens the door and piles the belongings inside what you take to be his home as you can see what looks like a sitting area like a living room and a cozy space beyond as he shirks his bags, tools, and artifacts onto what looks to be an easy chair. Grabbing a towel from a nearby table, the Spiral wipes himself down, cleaning dust and sweat off himself. Then he comes out to the hall a minute later, ready to shake your hand, and you can see his true, lovely colors. "Hello, there, dear one, I am StarKing," he says, as you both shake hands..



When he first joined the clan, he came without a name, so I/Cascade decided to name him a name I had used in another universe that was actually a name of a planet I'd created where some stories were to take place, as this derg was to be the wife of Kathulvia, who was also named after another planet, but their names had been tweaked a bit since it sounded like the opposite genders. You see, shortly after I received Star King's wife's dad, a dream came to me with the word 'Kathulhi' in it, and since her dad's name was Natulhi, I figured he should have a kid named that since it sounded so much like his name. I kept breeding the two dragons together but yielded no such hatchling, so decided to give up and settle on naming their daughter Kathulvia, and when the time came for her to have a mate, I acquired Star King and named him Kadenzo, just to make everybody happy... but after one last time of breeding, Kathulhi finally arrived, so it was time for a change, and thus StarKing and his wife received their proper names, and StarKing's wife's brother also received his :) I know, such a long, complicated mess of a story :P ack XD

StarKing might seem overbearing at first, but he's really just a kind noodle trying to get along with everybody who loves to stare at the stars on clear nights, and is easily excited by things found in the dirt. He has an odd sleep schedule since he loves both day and night, but finds that when the sky is covered by clouds is when he can get the best rest. Otherwise, if he's not spending time with his family, or up in the observatory with his eyes on the telescopes, he's out of the house doing something in the dirt, whether nearby or faraway like Dragonhome. He has a boisterous personality that seemed out of place in his previous home, but is just a perfect fit for the SkyWings clan :)

StarKing came from a clan where not many accepted his thirst for knowledge for things that didn't suit his Flight.. His family raised him well but as he grew, he began to feel as though he didn't belong and didn't fit in with the others around him, so when he became old enough, he took his belongings with him and said goodbye to his home and left in search of a place that would accept him. He went to the Auction House and listed himself, and waited for a time until being brought to the SkyWings clan where he felt truly welcomed and where he truly belonged. StarKing settled in very nicely, and found others here with the same interests as he, and began shadowing them, learning all he could from them about their passions since they shared the same ones.
As he settled and was given some space to call his own and live in, and met the others in the clan, he couldn't help but notice there were a few dragons that were talking about him and some girls that giggled and whispered whenever he passed. He just chuckled and shook his head at that, letting it pass, yet he did have longing deep inside to find some love and spend the rest of his days devoted to someone special.. but the girls that blushed and chittered when he was around weren't really the types he really went for.... until one of the girls, urged on by her friends, came up to this black & gold Spiral mustering every ounce of bravery she could and told him she liked him. He had noticed the blue Spiral before and noted that she seemed to be less giggly than the others, and since she seemed more sincere about her feelings than the other goofy girls around, he decided to not let her down and give her a chance. At first, he had no feelings for her, but as they started seeing each other, they began to form, and over time, StarKing fell for the one named SkyDream. The relationship went on, and his feelings only got stronger and he told her and she agreed hers were deeper for him, too. The love between them only grew until he proposed and they became engaged, then wedding bells rang and they settled into a place of their own inside the clan.
A short while later, they welcomed in some clutches of children and raised them well, before eventually all children left their home to become Exalted. StarKing and his wife couldn't be prouder, and now he spends all his free time either doting on his wife, enjoying digs in Dragonhome, or visiting observatories in the Starfall Isles.
StarKing also adores Novus, his Maticore Screamer, and though he has heard him chirp unpleasantly from time to time, he's never witnessed the scream that the Familiar is named for. Novus often follows the Spiral around, either chasing after him, or flying around somewhere nearby, and always likes to be by his side, following after him all across the lands of Sornieth. Though his tail may make him seem intimidating at first, once people get to know Novus, they find he's rather quite harmful and very loyal to his noodlederg. StarKing loves his company and finds he's very helpful in carrying extra tools or papers that can't quite fit in his arms or bags, although he doesn't force his Manticore to carry things all the time for fear of getting in trouble for animal abuse or enslavement or something..

StarKing is one of the clan's Astronomers and Archaeologists! You might think these would be weird things for a Shadow dragon to be interested in, but growing up, he was always fascinated with the things in the night sky above him and the things that could be dug up in the ground beneath him. He tried to learn from the others in his previous clan to satiate his endless curiosity, but the others discouraged him from following after such odd things and tried to steer him towards more Shadow-based tasks that he could do.... but this never fully satisfied him, and only made his desire to know more about these things grow. So, after a time of meeting dead-ends in his previous home, he figured it was time to leave and search for a place that would accept his odd ways and eccentric personality, and found himself at the SkyWings clan with dragons all around that had their own weird quirks. They didn't mind his desires, and he fulfilled his thirst for knowledge following around the clan's Mages, and those also obsessed with stars, and the Earth Reps, learning all he could from them and all they wanted to teach him about his favorite topics :) He now studies the skies above and maps the movements of the stars and varying constellations while also going on digs in the dustier parts of Sornieth, accompanying other dragons whose passion is unearthing the past :)
