When he hatched, meekly breaking the thin membrane of his egg, he was sickly and weak. His legs could barely hold the hatchling upright, his wings were thin and lacked muscle. His first step ended in a fall - a fall right in front of Plaguebringer's feet. She was disappointed - she created that egg, a child without true parents, to fulfill her desire to expand, to bear the word of the goddess of the Scarred Wasteland. But this hatch was not meeting her strict requirements of strength and health - so she took the hatchling by its scruff and threw him into the cauldron of the Wyrmwound.

He drowned in the pestilent liquid, sinking deeper and deeper. The vile water filled his lungs as he screamed from searing pain. But he did not die - instead, his body begun to change, mutate. His limbs grew, his skin hardened and his wings grew bigger in stronger. The change was not quick - he spent days, weeks down there, alive only by ancient magic, hidden deep in the Wyrmwound. As he sunk deeper, he felt the water move, as if great beasts swam by him, creating powerful currents. He could not feel the floor, and his eyes, though adjusted to the darkness, could not gaze through the murkiness of the cauldron.

At last, his pain eased into numbness, as feathers sprouted from his wings. He was changed now, from weak mirror hatchling to a strong skydancer dragon. By now he has fallen so deep that the only light came from the bioluminascence of the beasts around, but his eyes shone, too, now. He unfurled his wings to their entire great width, and pushed himself upwards with a powerful flap, moving fast. It took him hours to reach the surface, and once he breached, he took his first gulp of air in days. His wings, unused to air, did not carry him into the skies - instead, his red glowing claws grabbed at the edge of the cauldron, bringing himself up and out.

Plaguebringer watched with fascination as her previously abandoned child crawled out of the Wyrmwound with renewed, unseen before strength. She rejoiced - here is what she wanted, a strong dragon to spread her faith and dominance. She greeted the dragon, proud of his survival, and gave him his name - Demonsire, father of fiends, the king of the undying. Demonsire, incredibly proud to please his goddess, vowed to remain forever devote and take new land in her name.

Unique traits: Demonsire has a serrated, hooked beak akin to falcons. Unlike most skydancers, who only have small thin teeth for eating leaves and insects, Demonsire has two pair of canine fangs - one in the upper jaw, smaller in the lower jaw, - which are the only remnants of his biological origin as a mirror dragon. He is a bit larger and noticeably more muscled than most other skydancers.

Breath: Demonsire's elemental breath is a concentrated, pressurized beam of noxious gas. It has enormous range and power. The gas causes necrosis and boils, and stays in the air for a few minutes before being swept away by wind.
