  A B O U T
Gustave has always been anxious, even for his breed, with the tendency to tie himself in knots when he becomes too overwhelmed by his thoughts. However, over the years spent at the clan, he has been able to reach out to other dragons for help and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

While he has a few strong relationships, he tends to be fairly shy around the majority of his clanmates and often needs quiet time to himself to recharge. This makes him the perfect insect catcher, as he has the patience to spend long hours alone, overturning rocks and logs to dig up grubs while still possessing the agility to net the quickest of dragonflies.

He has a fascination for bugs and could spend hours watching them even when he’s not out hunting for the clan. He drapes himself in wreaths of flowers to attract bees, and sometimes he’ll follow them back to their hives to harvest beeswax. When combined with aromatic flowers, it can be used to make scented candles. It’s a relaxing hobby, and the knowledge that he is contributing to his sister’s job is comforting to him.

  H I S T O R Y
Gustave and his sister Joey have always been a pair, not knowing much about their parents. Joey is the first dragon he knew, when she cracked his egg to help him hatch. They left their birthplace fairly early on in their lives and spent quite a few years bouncing around Sornieth before Gustave’s constant bouts of anxiety drove them to settle down in the clan.

His anxiety was much more debilitating when he was younger and relied almost exclusively on his sister, who was nearly flying blind as well. Years spent in a stable home allowed him to seek out a support system, and having those dragons to speak with when his worries threaten to overwhelm him has helped to keep him from spiralling.

Recently, he has been spending much more time around Quince, a spiral whose uncharacteristic level-headedness has been a positive influence. Perhaps some of his hard-learned coping techniques will prove helpful to them as well.

He is eternally supportive of his sister, and has come to recognize some of his anxieties mirrored in her. She is quick to brush him off, perhaps because she still thinks of him as the baby brother in need of protection and reassurance. He is concerned by how much she worries over him and that her single-mindedness in regard to her career have led to her sacrificing her own health.
