Drowned

Petrichor was drowned by a siren off the northern cliffs of Dragonhome. The song drew him away from his lair, from his life, made him spread his wings and fall down into the water, beyond the Earthshaker's territory. He drowned slowly, over months, entranced by one song, stuck in it like tar.

He turned into a bitter spirit, lost and angry. Originally a reserved dragon, he has become prone to rancid mood swings, quickly turning from quiet ghost to nasty poltergeist at the slightest provocation. Though he is dead, he is not always incorporeal.

Because he is dead, he cannot speak, but his presence is known well among the dragons of this lair. No one knows for sure why he lingers here, if he followed someone or was drawn in by something else, but there are a few dragons who suspect he is soothed by the incessant violence that runs through the veins of the Scarred Wasteland. He is called Petrichor because of the scent that haunts his ghostly form, like an unseen rain on desiccated land.

Pet still likes gemstones and precious metals as much as he did when he was alive. When he is in a good mood, he will often gather around dragons who prefer the finer things in life.
