An encounter with ill magic in the Tangled Wood left Alienore's previous Lightrunes twisting into something stranger and more corrupt, consumed her neck and head until her skin slides with shadows and her throat gleams bright with the Light that still thrums through her veins. Alienore is a volatile dragon, quick to bare her teeth and raise her voice when angered but equally quick to defend any of the clan if threat is offered, and sneers at the idea of 'borrowing without asking' because she deems it as lacking in both honor and pride. Beryl's gentled teachings did not stick entirely, for Alienore is brash, but they are inseparable all the same. Perhaps Alienore considers Beryl too kind, disregards the deadly magic that the other Ridgeback casts and forgets that she's seen those blue scales dyed so red in the throes of battle, because she watches hatchlings climb and giggle and watch in wonder at the flower petals that curl unbidden. Perhaps Beryl thinks to shield Alienore equally, ignores that Alienore quite literally shreds into any and all throngs of enemies with sheer force and walks amongst bodies that have been rent into pieces with blood on her claws and worse on her spines. She likes to laze in both sun and shadows, presents shining things to any younglings brave enough to wander over that are made from things that she's collected through her travels, and hides her fondness for their blind innocence poorly. They query why she dresses so darkly, ask why her scales are violet and green and why her eyes are golden but her face isn't, but do not ever question why she wears Ebony when it whispers of secrecy because it never occurs to them. Alienore flanks Faraday's right side when they must go to battle, is the right hand while Hyperion is the left, and matches strides and strengths with the Imperial without once thinking twice about any of it. She protects the clan with fierceness equal to all other members, rages against those who hazard to attack them, and her loyalty never wavers because the trust offered to her never does either.  by maybels  by sinnibelle  by adalfyre  by snowy |
