B I O G R A P H Y
Acolyte, Druidess, Sage.

______ Born Makai of the Worldedge Wetlands, this primal-eyed Snapper was raised to become her clan’s next chief druidess. Having made their home in a more wild and dangerous part of the Wetlands, Makai’s clan always understood both the beauty and the horror of nature. What nature builds, it also destroys; such is the way of natural life. Makai was trained to respect both.

______ The flowers and plants blooming around her eyes, in addition to granting her special privilege and responsibility among her clanmates, also granted her an intrinsic knowledge of plantlife and the natural order. Plants could grow anywhere along her body, and the vines that eventually wound their way around her shoulders she could control to serve as extra limbs. By all accounts, she was one of the most successful and revered druidesses in the clan’s history.


______ But all was not as it seemed. From the moment she was born, Makai was aware of both the Gladekeeper’s presence in her mind as well as, of all things, the Windsinger’s. Being so spiritually connected, Makai was able to label and identify his voice right away, and often communicated with both simultaneously, though the Windsinger called her by the name Norma for reasons she could not yet fathom. She knew that her clan would ostracize her for this. She knew it was only a matter of time before she was discovered. She knew, but she knew not what to do about it.


______ Then one day she felt the forest jump in alertness. She followed the quaking of the leaves and the trembling of the treetrunks, as well as a powerful deific presence. Eventually she came across eight dragons, each one with such an intense divinity that the respective gods may as well have been standing over their shoulders. Their leader called her Norma just as the Windsinger had, and Norma suddenly felt an intense decision resting upon her shoulders.


______ In a moment that split her heart in two, she chose to leave her clan behind in the claws of the next druidess in line to become chief and follow this strange bunch to fulfill her twin-domain destiny. She was right in that her clan instantly ostracized her. She was wrong in that it would be difficult to leave them all behind.


______ By far the oldest of the Acolytes, Norma is considered to be the wisest and most level-headed. She does not mince words, and teaches Museclan and its progenies about the two sides of nature. Her garden is glorious, and her heart still aches for home, but she knows that this is where she was always destined to be.
