B I O G R A P H Y

______ Turandot was once Shiro, renowned Ice Dancer and international celebrity. She was a remarkable hatchling, with perfect, vivid colors representing the Ice domain and eyes that constantly filtered out snowflakes and beautiful ice crystals. This gift (or, as she would later consider it, an affliction) appeared also in her limbs, wherein her claws and wingtips were as if made from ice. She could control the ice that she touched, bending it into shapes at her whim and honing her ability to glide and dance gracefully over any patch of ice she came across.

______ Quickly recruited by an Ice Dancing troupe for her particular gifts, Shiro became the darling child of the troupe and was whisked away to perform all across the domains. Though she loved the attention and stardom, she frequently felt as if something was missing. She could communicate directly with the Icewarden, who approved of her using her talents to extol the glory of the Ice domain, but there was always something else-- something that nagged at the corner of her mind, and a feeling of restlessness and a desire for tranquility that she could never shake.

______ As she grew older, Shiro became disillusioned with the star’s life and attempted to withdraw from the troupe; but her fans revolted, and she was pressured to stay on by the troupe’s leader. She found herself becoming more and more bitter and reserved, lashing out at those who tried to reach out to her and withdrawing into her carriage whenever possible.

______ After one particularly restless night, Shiro awoke to the feeling of a new name on her lips. Turandot. Where had it come from? She felt that nagging again, and something drawing her back to her Icy home. She burst from her carriage carrying nothing but the clothes on her back and flew all the way back to Ice, where she found a ragtag group of seven primal-eyed elemental ambassadors speaking with her parents. Their leader, a Fae, looked to her with delight and called her Turandot.

______ From that moment, Turandot left everything else behind. Despite the pleas of her family, her troupe, and her fans, she knew that this was what she was missing. She welcomed the Windsinger into her mind alongside the Icewarden, who was none too happy but unwilling to intervene. She followed the Acolytes as they finished their mission, then returned to Museclan to live the peaceful and tranquil life she’d always dreamed of.

______ Now, Turandot educates Museclan’s ice dragonets on their cultural history, uses her powers to create beautiful ice sculptures, and only every now and then dances her way across the ice as she used to-- and only when she chooses to.
