B I O G R A P H Y

______ Salome was alone from the beginning. She gave herself the name Resheph, and her earliest memories were of scavenging for scraps among the older dragons of the Hellwell Undercroft. She quickly understood the concept of survival of the fittest, and relied upon no one else to survive. Others around her age that she encountered might fall prey to a contagion or a corrupted predator or even a starving adult dragon; but she lived, through grit and determination alone.

______ One day’s weary wandering led the young Resheph to Quarantine Zone #128, where her curiosity got the better of her and she ambled too close to a cavern housing a particularly virulent strain of a deadly disease for study. Over the next few hours her eyes were taken over by cysts and pustules, the pain immense. The scientists who found her near death took her in, not necessarily to nurse her back to health, but instead to study the progression of the illness upon one so young.

______ Once again she survived. Now forever changed by the disease, Resheph encountered a new symptom; voices in her head, two, one fainter than the other. The first she understood to be the Plaguebringer, encouraging one so strong and hale of body to continue the study of these diseases which would fell any weaker. The other voice was saying something else, but Resheph couldn’t hear.

______ She made her home in the Quarantine zone, acting as a sort of test subject for the scientists there. She would be exposed to all sorts of diseases, the symptoms and recovery time studied, and various treatments experimented with. In a way Resheph loved it-- experiencing all of the ways that microorganisms would try to undo her very cellular structure, and beating it every time.

______ Then one day that second voice got louder. It called her away from her beloved Quarantine Zone, and though she was loathe to leave, her curiosity once again got the better of her. She found a troupe of dragons struggling to enter the Plague domain, scarves and fabrics pulled across their snouts in makeshift masks. A tiny Fae called out to her from the border gate, and called her Salome, which sounded right to Resheph’s ears. Instead of them entering, Salome went out to meet them, a piece of gauze pulled across her own snout.

______ Thoroughly ravaged and scarred by disease, Salome is now incredibly knowledgeable about viruses, as well as their spreading and their treatment. Though most in Museclan tend to stay away from her, she serves the vital purpose of studying and quarantining new illnesses that appear within the clan and the wider domain. Though Wind is a far cry from her old domain, she keeps her den as nasty and as gloriously gory as she remembers it from back home.
