Personality: Dante is... not the most mature dragon. Judgmental, prone to holding grudges, and convinced of his own moral superiority, he tends to make more enemies than friends. Which is a shame, because when meeting him one gets the impression he's desperate for a bit of validation and approval- he will go up to just about anybody and chat with them, often stopping multiple times on the way from point A to point B to strike up a conversation. What's more, those he does respect he is extremely deferential to, excitedly kissing up in the desperate hopes that senpai will notice him. For a healer, he also has a bit of a weak constitution. He's easily distressed by violence, and prone to fainting at the sight of excessive blood or gore. Or just when he gets too stressed or worked up in general. History: Dante is a dragon who has a rather strong preoccupation with the concept legacy. He ponders a great deal over the weight of a person's actions in life, and how this might reflect on the way they are perceived after their death. It's probable that his position as a healer during the rampage of an emperor through Light Flight territory helped this along, since he saw a lot of death and heard a lot of stories about the sorts of people who were missed and those who were not. Being as his birth clan in the Mirrorlight Promenade didn't super appreciate his voicing these opinions- and there was a good deal of political strife in the Sunbeam Ruins at the time anyway what with the volatile situation surrounding imperials and emperors- Dante found himself duly booted from his homeland. Bitter and extremely galled over this, Dante proceeded to write a litany of poorly conceived essays and revenge-fics about the ones who had cast him out, which naturally didn't really endear him to them. He ultimately ended up having to go into hiding under the protection of the mercenaries of Clan Uncia, working for them as a healer in exchange for protection from his enemies. Love Life: Being an author himself, Dante was very excited to discover a poet in his newly adopted clan. He soaked up Virgil's many writings like dry ground soaks up the rain, and adhered himself to Virgil in the hopes of becoming his student... and friend, maybe possibly? Though initially Virgil found this fan-worship a bit obnoxious, gradually he softened to Dante and agreed somewhat bemusedly to try dating- though he refuses to upgrade the relationship until Dante grows up a little and starts regarding Virgil as an equal instead an object of hero-worship. |
