Few disturb him whilst in his trance. At the feet of the Pillar of the World, he stands guard, ever watchful for the ripples in the universe. It was that fateful day millennia ago, in the First Age, that the tower was erected, and with it came the birth of the Kin of Time. Left to defend the Pillar as their charge, this union of petrified watchers imbued themselves with the aura emanating from the Pillar, allowing them to sense the shifting forces. This power granted them hindsight, able to view and travel to past events. In their carving, they were bestowed endless lifespans that could only end in the crumbling of the megalith itself. Never sleeping and always observing…

When the fateful day came and the Pillar fell, Sargas found himself alive despite the crumbling of his charge. The Arcanist was long gone from the zone of calamity, and the once dormant deities roused from slumber. The sight of the deities parting ways brought Sargas to anguish, neither taking notice of the lone Kin of Time. He watched, as flights were conjured, great dynasties of dragonkind evolving their magic. Sargas slipped away, flying towards the realm of the deity responsible for the death of his charge and his union. He wandered the flight for a thousand years, until he showed up at the heart of the Thunder-Arrow clan.

Curious energy reminiscent of that of his charge surged here. Droves of dragons diverse in flight, age, and professions surrounded him, curious too about this time-traversing imperial. Resolute in his decision, Sargas settled in amidst the tinkerers of the House of Hourglass, and familiarized himself with the various drakes he befriended. The pain of the lost charge still stung, but his mission carried on. One day they’ll know the truth of the drakes here before them…
