If you ignore the rules people will, half the time, quietly rewrite them so that they don't apply to you.

Role

Permanent residents of the Manor have the privilege of access to Vivi's tattoo shop, where she carefully designs and applies the accents for the clan. She takes custom orders for candied insect wings - the favourite food of her ever-present swarm of hatchlings. Vivi's proficiency with a needle exceeds even Valerian's, and she has often been hired by the clan doctors to suture wounds that are too small for them to handle. She also dabbles in customized gembonding, and keeps a few well-trained onyx cobras for this purpose.

Personality

Vivi has a fundamentally Fae personality - self-possessed and clinically curious. She never flinches at the squeaks of pain from first-time tattoo recipients, and will simply calmly pat the heads of those who start crying. On top of that, she owes her creativity and open-mindedness to her Wind heritage, and has one of the driest and best senses of humour in the clan. It takes some getting used to, however, and newer clan members are always disconcerted by her clever, monotonous, and completely straight-faced quips.

Background

Vivi has been around for a surprisingly long time, and is very much qualified to be a clan elder. She's only slightly younger than Hypatia and is the perfect dragon to ask about scandalous early clan gossip. Her tattoo parlour is located in the huge mulberry tree at the centre of the Manor, which has grown straight through the ceiling and into the Library. Vivi's huge woven tree sap nest shines a brilliant purple from the berries, and the excess sap is a highly coveted and mildly alcoholic treat for the insect and plant eaters of the clan who lick it straight from the tree and swear by its... 'healing' powers.

Relationships

Like many Fae, Vivi has trouble communicating with other breeds and mostly keeps her own counsel. She's one of those dragons who everyone has heard of, but very few know. Customers are all welcome as long as they can pay, and the clan has formed a tradition of leaving donations for good luck every time they pass by. Rajni and Oleander are her most frequent customers and have become good friends, and the three have adopted the mulberry tree as their base of operations - to Raymond's great ire when their raucous chatter disturbs the peace of his precious Library.
