Role

Dragons who wish to utilize the resources of the Manor's vast Library (which takes up an entire floor) must endure the suspicious glances and pointed glares of an determinedly unfriendly Fae. Raymond catalogues and edits the Library's entire collection of books and scrolls. He is also the clan scribe, and documents the clan's various endeavours in his smooth, elegant script. Unlike the clan's previous scribe, Raymond has no inclination whatsoever to keep the clan's dirty secrets - everything is written into his books, and woe betide anyone who tries to change them without his permission.

Personality

It's downright embarrassing for many clan members to admit that they've been intimidated by a tiny Fae, but Raymond's protectiveness of the Library rivals that of any Guardian. Hatchlings messing around his carefully organised shelves swear they can practically feel his Earth-heavy glares, and even the elders know not to upset Raymond in his own domain. Raymond's small size and agility comes in handy for flitting between and around shelves, even though he sometimes wishes had the height to reach the top-most shelves without having to fly.

Background

The Library has a rich and turbulent history for the clan, and has had many successive Librarians. As the charge of a Guardian, it was awarded capitalisation status before even the mulberry tree or Sigrun's forest. Raymond was the next in line for the momentous role - with it may come great respect and administrative power, but also great responsibility to make sure every event in the clan is recorded, right down to the pattern of cracks in the eggshells and the number of times Sigrun has caused some geological mishap. Suffice to say that Raymond has very good reason to be as high-strung as he is.

Relationships

Raymond prefers the quiet solitude of his books over loud companionship. Books don't trample his neatly organised shelves, or muddy up the Library's corridors. Books don't laze about all day doing nothing - they are useful and informative by their very nature. And he'd always be comfortable being himself around them - books wouldn't begrudge him that. He won't say no to one of Manila's tea parties, though - a good brew is more than worth the endless gossiping and giggling of the clan's other tea lovers. Harpies, the lot of them.
