Biography
Prelude
"Before You Point Fingers, make sure Your Hands are Clean"
At one point and time a calculated, intelligent and respectable dragon, Prelude has long turned to madness. That’s of course a given, considering that she’s the oldest wanderer to date. After a quiet but abusive childhood, Prelude fled from her parents while still only just a year old. Going from abuse to Blight’s Bane, a breeding ground for wickedness and corruption, had its drawbacks for Prelude. However, she strived to overcome all challenges presented to her, and just a year after she’d left her home, she began leading the wanderers. Her guidance was somewhat biased and harsh, but Prelude truly believed that firm rules were the only way to go if she ever hoped to keep insanity at bay. Sadly, her efforts were in vain. It all started with an enchanted egg. The wanderers had devised a theory that if those with potent magical ability were born among them, then they would be able to escape and even get help. Prelude tried her best to stop them, but the majority sided with them, and Prelude wept as they began casting unusual magic on their unborn young. The first results of these experiments were nothing more than pitiful and hopeless. The three scrawny, mutanoid creatures were not only supernaturally frail, but had no magical prowess to speak of, and were quickly put out of their misery. The next batch was the same, as was the one after that. Prelude tried again to reason with the wanderers in an attempt to stop them, but they’d replaced her by then with a nocturne named Valimir, who not only encouraged the tests, but forced couples to give up their eggs for them. After many, many more failures, Prelude had finally had enough. Gathering her remaining followers, Prelude tried to force the experiments to stop. Instead, she got hit with one of the spells, and it did unspeakable things to her mind. After vivid hallucinations for three days straight, Prelude found that she could no longer think rationally, and was haunted day and night by the promise of lunacy, not only for herself, but for all the wanderers. When she tried to warn them, they all thought her crazy, and so she fled into the root holt, trying everything her fractured mind could think of to stop the spread of mania among the wanderers, whom she only wanted the best for. |
