Ekaitz

Ekaitz was born on the Queen's Parda to Felix, the ship's sunrise-seeker, and Mitzuki, who uses the Parda when her restless wings demand she go exploring.

After his hatching, it soon became clear that Ekaitz resembled more than anything else the storms that rolled across the Sea of A Thousand Currents. The crew of the Parda was understandably concerned about the young dragon, and when it became clear that Mitzuki had a home in the Starfall Isles, they gently suggested he go with his mother to explore the Isles. Such a dragon as he might be a balm to soothe a storm's power, but if not, if the reverse were true, the young Ekaitz could never be safe on the Sea. Better to go to the Isles, where a too-powerful storm wouldn't be able to send the young Ekaitz straight to the murky depths.

Ekaitz had enjoyed his time on the Parda, but had inherited his mother's curiosity, and the adventure of the Isles called to him. He found that his natural curiosity served him well in the Isles, and that when he went exploring in the Crystalspine reaches, there was no shortage of young dragonets anxious to go exploring with him.

As he grew, Ekaitz never lost his love of exploring the mountains around his home, and soon became one of the clan's best foragers. He and Magdala often share notes on the locations of certain plants and insects. His interest is in the edible, and hers the magical. Between the two of them, they keep the clan in delicacies and magic.

If asked, however, Ekaitz will say that his best foraging find wasn't food at all, but rather a handsome Coatl who had gotten hopelessly turned around after wandering away from a neighboring clan. The Coatl looked like sunshine, and Ekaitz was smitten.

As it turned out, the crew of the Parda had been wrong about his possible penchant for attracting storms. Instead, he attracted a mate who looked like the sun itself.
