The Sentinels of the Deep are widely considered to be the last line of defence for the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Though their patrol is limited to their Lord's residence, a single Sentinel is said to command enough power and endurance that they can swim ten laps around the Sea, fight a ten-day battle, and still have enough energy to walk Sornieth from one end to the other.

(Rumours, of course, but a rumour must start somewhere, no?)

But of course, it is a difficult legacy to uphold. Even more so when you eternally remain in the shadow of your parents, famed Sentinels in their own right.

So what do you do? Go to someplace where the legacy of Sentinels is weak, and build a name for yourself, away from the watery shadows of your parents!

Yes, Nezami has woefully little life experience compared to her exalted parents. But she believes that a little time spent in the outside world can do much good for her. She may not be as cunning as her father or as savage as her mother, but she's dependable, loyal, and knows how to see a job through to the end.

So being recruited to act as a personal bodyguard to a travelling priestess can't hurt, can it? She's kind, patient, and a wonderful employer, even if she may be a little eccentric and extremely secretive. But Nezami won't pry. She knows how to respect boundaries.

But she does wonder why they have to be so isolated from society, and why her employer meets with dragons in the privacy of her tent.

...Come to think of it, she only knows her employer as 'Lady'. What kind of an employer doesn't give their employee their own name?

Ah, it's no worry. Nezami receives a bounty of stories from Lady, a handsome payment each month, puts her scrying talents to good use, and gets to travel to wonderful places around Sornieth. Though once her contract ends in two years, she'll be off somewhere else to make a name for herself again.

And she can't wait to create her own legacy.
