Zhen Dagis

"Don't Try to Figure Me out"

Zhen didn’t have much of a childhood, having hatched all by his lonesome in the middle of the Viridian Labyrinth. Since day one, he took care of himself, and though he had fear and wonder like other hatchlings, he found that the best way to deal with his problems was to face them head on and normalize them, which jaded him swiftly and silently. Zhen, not having any sort of role model, thought this to be completely fine and normal, and when he finally did stumble upon civilization, he was regarded poorly. Due in part to his animalistic behaviors and in part to his naturally morbid behavior, most steered clear of him or picked on him. Because of this, Zhen quickly fled from that clan, seeking the comfort of what he was familiar with. He even left the Gladekeeper’s realm, journeying instead to the Lightweaver’s realm. There, he was met with a similar reception. This time, though, he stood his ground and spent months upon months studying about Sornieth and the deities, about customs and history. Learning to read and write took up a good half of this time, as Zhen was completely illiterate, but he was a fast learner.

However, he couldn’t find the acceptance that he’d hoped for so, once again, he slipped away.
After some more traveling, Zhen ended up at Blight’s Bane. At first a bit concerned, he soon slipped back into his old mannerisms and grew to become one of the more respected of the wanderers due to his incredible hunting skills and harmony with nature. Everything changed when he met Selena. The seemingly aloof, cold-hearted dragon instantly reminded him of himself, and he began to foster an intense interest in her. When she told him she’d be joining Loretta and leaving the wanderers, he made the decision to go with her, forfeiting his position in the wanderers in pursuit of his first crush. Since that day, Zhen and Selena became mates, and drown in each other’s love everyday.
