Biography
Within the fumaroles, many would think there is no order, no kings or queens. But to the locals, the nobles of the Firelands gleam outwardly, like the burning sun itself. Quathedrel, second of her name, has always been a part of this aristocratic elite.
Born into a noble family, Quathedrel lived with a silver spoon all her life. The burning palace her ancestors claimed had known peace for many centuries, but through the haze of comfort, tragedy can strike like an assassin in the night. Illness wasted away the former matriarch and patriarch of her noble family, and Quathedrel found the seat of House Matriarch thrust upon her almost a dozen years too early. Many would crack and crumble under the pressure; but she was like coal, and she would shine like a beautiful diamond.
Quathedrel took to ruling and managing like a fish to water; her keen intellect and astounding charisma let her easily outmaneuver and work her way through any problems or political foes the house faced. The house flourished, and a new golden age had dawned under her rule. But to a queen dressed in finest rubies and luxurious silks, the simplest pleasures in life can often be the most challenging. She began to desire a House Patriarch to rule beside her; and one who knew that which she herself did not.
Many suitors came and went; they sought to quench her flame, but she proved to burn hotter then a star. These noblemen didn't have anything to offer her that she did not already possess; she needed something different, something new. And within the burning wastes, she found it. An older male, one who sought not her hand but her help. He lay dying, barely the victor of a vicious confrontation; were it not for her aid, he surely would have become another set of blackened bones within the wastes.
It took nearly a full year for his injuries to heal. During that year, Quathedrel cared for him. She let her advisors run the house for a short time; he was her charge now, and as a noble it became her responsibility to see his recovery through. While healing, the dusty explorer explained what the wastes that lay behind her brick wall barricades truly held; small, terrified communities of dragons that fought constantly to protect their homelands. Quathedrel realized there was more she could do then further the goals of just her house...she could help every dragon who dwelled in the Firelands.
Quathedrel asked his help in the endeavor, and the two became business partners. The once dirty explorer proved to be a shrewd diplomat, and his burning passion to help those in need ignited her passion as well. Soon enough, the two wed and became an inseparable pair. Each felt they owed the other a lifetime of love and care; and so, the two worked to bring peace to the fires of the Firelands, and Quathedrel, second of her name found her mate. Not one who clenched her flame, but one whos flame burned just as hot.
