Notes from Mirale's journal:
Sadly, this one also shared the fate of its siblings--it too faced violent rejection from the perfectionist that sired it. The consciousness wasn't pleased when it hatched, pacing and growling when getting a good look at it, but it didn't seem to be enough for it to attack its child right away. The child was kept around almost as long as the other two that didn't face immediate rejection, but eventually did have "Epitome" turn on it too. I'm just surprised that it wasn't due to it being intelligent as well, instead it was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
This child had a tendency to wander where it wasn't meant to go. When it was wandering one day, sneaking to the lower levels of the hive, it entered what my fellow researchers call the "Mirror Chamber". Not as in the breed, but as the object. It found the consciousness in a frenzy, and quickly became the lone target of its spontaneous fits of violence. This one was luckier than its siblings, able to escape without a single scratch due to knowing how to navigate the hive's tunnels.
If any of them stand a chance out there, it's this one.

Notes from Perasil's journal:
Entry I
Not too long ago, I read the journals Leoster had given me from our library. They were the writings of other scientists who had done research into the HIVEMIND, or had observed them firsthand. A somewhat-reoccurring character between some of the journals was a Consciousness named EPITOME. He's apparently become decently well known among those who study the HIVEMIND.
From what I've read, he seems to be a rather... unstable... Consciousness, compared to most, and seems to strive for "perfection", though whatever that means seems to change on a whim. He has had multiple clutches, and his offspring have scattered throughout Sornieth, and while they don't seem to garner as much attention as their father, they seem to be quite well known.
One day, I got a report from the surface that a Tundra DRONE was spotted coming from the Tangled Wood and heading into the Abyss, and not much later I found a Tundra DRONE heading down to the ABYSSHIVE entrance. While initially that seems to be a very normal sight, at the time the only Tundra that I knew PROVENIENCE had was SHARPSHOOTER, and the Tundra I saw was definitely not SHARPSHOOTER. So, wondering if PROVENIENCE had gotten herself new DRONEs, I used the radio-like machine Auiniona had put together for me to hack into the ABYSSHIVE's main wavelength to see if I could find out anything about this drone.
I was only able to hear bits and pieces due to the poor connection the device made with the wavelength. However, what I was able to gather was that this DRONE was indeed new, and went by the name SURVIVOR. At the time, I thought nothing much about it, other than it sounded vaguely familiar.
It wasn't until I was compiling my notes that the name strongly struck me as familiar. So, I went through the journals again to see if I had encountered it there. I eventually found Mirale's notes, and noticed that one of EPITOME's first hatchlings was named SURVIVOR. I didn't immediately say that this DRONE was that SURVIVOR, but I decided to keep a closer eye on the DRONE in the off chance it was.
