The blood red moon shone bright at the dark night sky. The waves were calm as they lapped against the shore. It seemed as if the sky and the sea were aware of what was happening, of how special that night was. Egil sat near the clutch of eggs, his form shimmering, as if he was a ghost. The Viking smiled ruefully as he laid a ghostly talon on the third egg, his own egg where he hatched. He sighed as he remembered the ceremony of that night, his hatching, the brief moment he had with his brother and sisters before he was whisked away. Shortly after their baptizing, the siblings were separated moments after their hatching. Egil himself was taken by Nightmare, the fearsome leader of Fortis Ignis, accompanying him were Sigfrid the shield maiden and Brynjar the berserker. Egil snapped out of his stupor as he noticed the scene before him shift. Slowly, the landscape vanished before his eyes. |
