Nainnum

Niannum Snob - Four of Cups Nain is not a very pleasant person to be around, but he has been with the clan for a long time and everyone is pretty much used to it. He's extremely snobbish and snide, but unlike some other dragons isn't at all aggressive and doesn't seek out conflict of his own accord. The worst he has to offer are passive-aggressive whining and the occasional loud glib comment on people's personal habits. As a Coatl he struggles with understanding draconic, but is reasonably competent as long as he doesn't have to speak with a quiet person or any Fae. He takes great care of his appearance and looks down on anyone who doesn't make it a priority: He considers warrior dragons oafish underlings for much the same reason. He spends most of his time with Sisi, his pretty mate, despite moaning constantly that she is an awful bore.

History: Nain migrated from the jungles of the emerald island far, far away, drawn back to the ancestral home of the Coatls in the Ashfall Waste. He continually threatens to leave Driftwood Shore whenever anyone especially annoys him, but never actually displays any signs of leaving.

Physical: Nain is a fluffy Coatl whose body feathers are fragmented into well-pampered downy fur. He is elsewhere trim, sleek, and attractive, with long elegant wings. Nain's flight is soaring and gliding, which he is very good at, but it takes a little effort to get him off the ground. Nain dislikes getting wet and does not choose to swim for fun, though he will wade mincingly into the shallows to search for mollusks and crustaceans when he has to.

Familiar: Nain's fierce dog arrived with him. He calls her Scolopendra. It barks at everything and nothing and annoys the entire clan, but can be quite sweet when in the mood for affection (or in the presence of treats). It is one of the most active and commonly seen familiars on the beach, and treats the clan as its 'pack', especially since the Swords War.

Simanmmin: Sisi is Nain's mate, though it took him seasons upon seasons to actually admit the fact, both to himself and openly to others. Nain can't explain his attraction to her, as she is dim and frivolous and naiive and open and dissimilar to him in every way, but since the War he can no longer deny it. Although he is clearly content to blissfully spend the entire day by her side, he still splutters and denies and drops casual put-downs and insults about her whenever the topic is brought up by other dragons.

Offspring: Though he doesn't take much action about it, Nain is intensely proud to be father to such lovely children, exalted or otherwise. He has only ever nested with Sisi and knows where most of his children are in the world, even if he hasn't met them personally as adults.
