Former student to Cobaltia. Shares a brotherly bond with Cicero, even though they are not blood brothers. They grew up together, and are both orphans.

Of the two, Spitfire is way more ill-tempered and doesn't get along with most dragons in the Chateau due to that. But he does have a few friends besides Cicero, the most notable ones being Tsaiare's three children: Umbra, Tsar and Alaina. Spitfire harbours respect for the Kindling King, Aaron, and also for his more fiery children. He teaches fire magic to those younglings, and he also gifted a phoenix to Tsar as a celebratory gift for becoming Tsaiare's official heir.

A child of the Red Court's rulers, Zircon, came to be Spitfire's apprentice. Although Spitfire is rather rash, Zircon's calm and patient demeanour evens it out, making this apprenticeship possible despite Spitfire being a harsh teacher. Later, Arcana joined as a second apprentice, though Zircon often has to stand up for the much softer-natured dragoness during Spitfire's grumpy moments.
