Vanwa

Early Life

Vanwa doesn't remember her parents. There was a vague memory of a male voice from outside of her egg but when she hatched she was all alone. Scared, she began searching until she stumbled across a moderately sized clan. She was found by a guardian who brought her to the head of the civilians, Haniel. The older nocturne introduced her to the civilians of the clan, helping get her settled in. Vanwa was overwhelmed by all of the dragons but was excited to meet them. Her enthusiasm sometimes has her coming off as a little awkward in her interactions.

Despite her love of her new clan, Vanwa wanted to search for her family. They must not have left her because they wanted to but because something had made them. She began searching the wilds around her clan. She has since become intimately connected to the rangers, who consistently have to help guide her back when she gets lost.

One day, Haniel approached Vanwa. The older dragon had noted the other's desire to locate her family but, due to the politics of the clan, there were few fighters that could be spared to help her search. Haniel wanted Vanwa to be happy so she recommended learning the art of woodcraft from Cedrus, a ranger in a neighboring clan. Vanwa was sorry to leave her home but Haniel reassured her that she could still visit whenever she wanted; the Gemini Alliance meant that there is frequent travel between the clans.

A new start

Azael was the one to guide Vanwa to her new clan. After he left her with Cedrus, Vanwa was soon talking the other dragon's ear off. His mate, Eire, was the one who led Vanwa off eventually to keep Cedrus from snapping. Vanwa learned a little from both of them about nature but she learned the most from Birch, whose personality meant she didn't mind the constant chatter. Vanwa grew to revere nature, starting to wish that she had been born under the Gladekeeper's influence instead of the Stormcatcher's.

Though she learned much about the natural world around her, Vanwa's sense of direction never improved. Amaros kept a begrudging eye on her, having been asked to by Azael who anticipated Haniel's continued interest in her one-time charge. As such, Vanwa is not allowed to leave the clan grounds without a companion.

A cheerful dragon, Vanwa enjoys helping around the clan. Occasionally she helps Hiva care for her bees while at other times she'll assist Monarch in gathering insects for the clan's food stores. She loves the thrill she gets from helping others and as such will do almost anything for her clan mates. During her time spent with Birch, Vanwa met a black wolf that she began offering her food to. Over time, the wolf befriended her and now follows the nocturne around everywhere.

Name origin: Named after a friend's D&D character, a half-elven druid. Has a wolf companion named Wolfie.

Moira

____Moira was one of the first friends Vanwa made in the Hotaru Clan. The other dragon was happy to show Vanwa around and Vanwa always believed in her gambling abilities, even if they never paid off. Moira, in turn, introduced Vanwa to the rest of her adventuring group. The two often share secrets with one another.

Diagwen

____Diagwen was the second member of the adventuring team that Vanwa met. While Vanwa likes her, she has also noted that the other dragon has a tendency to be a little... Impulsive. As such, Vanwa has taken up the self-appointed task of watching over the other and keeping her safe. While Diagwen does not always appreciate her efforts, Vanwa is able to sleep easy as a result.

____Adran

Binala

____Binala was not a dragon that Vanwa initially saw herself as connecting with. Despite her desire to know more about her family, Binala always seemed at odds with her parents, going out of her way to spite them. Still, the other dragon was happy to help Vanwa on her own search and over time Vanwa grew to enjoy her companionship. She often feels like the other is her younger sister, Vanwa helping to reign n her chaotic impulses.

Varis

____Varis and Vanwa have grown surprisingly close since meeting. The other dragon will often help her get back to the Watchers Clan to visit her old friends on his travels to the clan. Both of them enjoy spending time with Eli when they go and hold a lot of the same values in common. Vanwa feels like Varis is like a sibling to her. He was the one who really began inviting her along on the group's adventures to help her find her family again.

Gaerendyl

____Gaerendyl and Vanwa are friends, although some of that could be that Vanwa enjoys helping his wife. Gaerendyl appreciates Vanwa's help with keeping Diagwen in line just as she feels better with him also watching out for the other. Gaerendyl's new companion also gets along decently well with Wolfie, so they sometimes spend time together just to let their companions hang out.

Amaris

____Amaris is a dragon who goes along with everything Vanwa suggests, making her an instant friend. Vanwa loves sharing everything with the quieter dragon and has begun to see her as a treasured companion. Since even Wolfie likes Amaris, Vanwa believes that she has found a friend for life.
