The assassin was unsure what was hurting him more, the fierce winds ravaging his scales or the beast that had a grip on his wing. He latched onto the massive creature with thick claws, knotting in its long fur. Ice had frozen to his frail feathers, rendering them even further immobile as needle like teeth punctured the wing's flesh and bone. He was on his second mission to fulfill an order from the Icewarden, to catch a horrific beast whose prison was compromised by the warm touch of the Ashfall air currents. Ugh, who thought keeping a monstrosity like this so close to the splintered Floes was a good idea? He found himself thinking in distaste. His employer wasn't all that smart. But that wasn't important right now. What was important was getting himself away from this thing. He had no idea what this creature was; even scholars studying the beastclans had no information to offer him for the case. This may have been the only specimen alive. At least, the only one currently alive; he'd come to the conclusion that "Icepop" probably had hundreds of each of his cases in the back of his sick storage room or whatever. This was just special in the sense that it had escaped him. But it wouldn't escape Cane. He shoved his tail into the beast's mouth. It was more prehensile than the wing, which would be better for what he was planning. He winced and tried to ignore the pain as the creature's eel-like mouth clamped down on him, and summoned all his strength to fling himself up onto the beast's head. The beast wouldn't let go, but this didn't bother him. He'd make it let go soon enough. It thrashed around in an attempt to get it off, but its mane gave Cane something to cling to in order to keep his place. As soon as the turbulence died down and he was able to keep sturdy balance, he threw his sword into the creature's eye. It let out a screech, letting go of Cane's tail and simultaneously giving him an opportunity by opening its mouth. He was just about to freeze it, when... "Whoohooo!" A female fae flew up and breathed an intense, magical icy wind into the creature's throat, freezing it from the inside out. "Minty, that was MY capture!" "Too slow, Candy!" "BLIZZARD. Call me BLIZZARD!" |
