Near the western edge of Roshan’s lands, the bleached bones of a great beast lay buried in the mountain slopes of limestone and soil. The four maws of an ancient Emperor seem to swallow the valleys and rock, its many claws still gripping the ground as if climbing from its forgotten tomb. Ribs draped in vines and vegetation canopy the snowmelt river that runs through this haunting place, shading the landscape and frightening most who pass by on their travels to and from the inner Sunbeam Ruins. It is here that the strange Pearlcatcher dwells, her Shadow eyes glimmering with anger and restlessness as she chases off any that linger in her home for too long. Her slurred words of hate and injustice echo through the mountains and into the sky above, her teeth forever bared to the sun and its light. Violet fire of Shadow magic flickers endlessly from the sockets of the fallen beast, serving as her eyes to watch over the gorge she's claimed as her own and shaped into the home of Roshan's forsaken. Do not question Prophet. One mustn't deny her generosity, nor disregard her rules and guidance. It is a lesson that all are given upon joining or being born into Roshan, one emphasized with promise of fortune and good health if heeded. Sayonne, despite the warnings, was not one who blindly followed. She questioned, preached against, and challenged the other Pearlcatcher, claiming with a cry that the Prophet was false. Prophet, declaring that the Lightweaver had graced Sayonne with mercy, banished the sorceress to the outskirts of the temple lands rather than condemning her to death. She lingers here, snarling and yelling obscenities to the deity above. She will return, eventually, and the false Prophet shall know the fear that Sayonne once did. |
