An aging Nocturne stands pridefully over his work in the Roshan library, head held high as he sweeps his gaze over the neat stacks and piles of tomes and scrolls he’s memorized down to the letters. His claws flick carefully through his journals of notes and ideas, his mind forever working to learn, to understand, to expand. Hatchlings and students of many practices come to hear his lectures and browse his collection of knowledge, eager to study beneath Luten’s watchful eye. A firm yet understanding teacher, he enjoys nothing more than sharing what he’s learned with the young and aspiring dragons of the Sunbeam Ruins. Apprentices of Flight magic, herbalism, history, agriculture, and many other fields all find guidance with the Nocturne. He ushers them away once he’s decided they’ve studied enough, encouraging them with a nervous smile to leave the temple walls and pursue more knowledge on their own. One mustn’t linger here too long. Luten and his sister, Aida, were born into Roshan and Prophet’s rule. Although this way of life offers wealth and power to both siblings, uncertainty and question cloud their minds. While Aida finds comfort and seclusion in her practices as an archmage, Luten finds the same in studying and knowledge. For decades he has spent most of his waking hours in the Roshan libraries, browsing the dusty shelves and pulling down any book, scroll, or piece of parchment that catches his eye. He often finds himself lingering on tales of ancient beings, tense as he pages through with desperation on his features. Perhaps one might tell exactly who, or what, the great Prophet may really be. Maybe then he will find how to free those trapped within her suffocating grasp. |
