People forget, 'Aria knows, that to be kind and courteous and polite even in times of stress is hard. People forget, she thinks, that it is a choice. Light shines in the darkness because something must. Because otherwise the darkness is everything. She has never been one to let darkness consume all things. There are dark days, yes, and dark nights of course, but the darkness always ends. One day, perhaps, all dark will consume the world, but that will be the day that even the gods are dead - and it is not yet. In the meantime, she has work to do. Alliances to help forge. A clan to help lead and direct. She knows why they turn to her in times of trouble, after all, why, when Zaerin is busy, it is she to whom they look. Nothing calls attention in dire darkness like a light. |

Is she meant to lead the clan? Perhaps not. It has never been formally stated, and everyone knows that it is not her to whom Zaerin turns first for advice but Aurelius and Heart - but she stays calm in times of trouble as others panic and turn in circles. Of all of them, she is most able to stay steady. The sun does not fade because it is not seen. Hope does not cease to exist just because it has vanished from perception. She knows others struggle to reach this clarity she has. She has spent all her life fighting for it, reaching past the darkness to the light that gives her purpose, it has been the daily process of her life as she dedicated herself more and more to the tenets of the Lightweaver. Light brings truth. Truth brings peace. Let all things be illuminated and all good things can come to pass. Sometimes they will struggle. Sometimes there are rough, terrible things revealed by pulling back the obscuring dark. Sometimes, she knows, the obscuring dark is there for a reason. But a problem is not solved by ignoring it. At the end of the day Collapsaria will always step forth, shed light, and face the trouble with clear knowledge in her mind. |
