Opal
Captain of Valor
Opal was smuggled away from an overcrowded lair by her older sister, Shatter, as an egg. Together they trudged through bitter cold and valleys of snow that towered into the skies. They got by on a miracle, hiding in cave to cave on dwindling rations of tough, dying roots and whatever unlucky creatures could not bare the cold any longer. Opal spent much of her early life in the cold darkness of never-ending snow and ice, and the warmth of her sister.

The sisters traveled aimlessly in search of warmer lands day after day, through blizzard and hail, until they finally came across the Southern Icefield's eastern shoreline. Across the crystal blue seas they saw a whirlwind, a vicious storm unlike any other. A vicious storm that blew to them a desperately desired sign of hope: a single green leaf.
So it was decided. They flew arduously on ice-beaten wings and melting scales across the ocean and towards their windswept beacon, so blinded by their longing that they had not realized it pulling them close until it was too late.

Swept far into the skies, and by the whims of fate not instantly crushed by debris or impact with another surface, they managed to flee north. They glided as far as their wings could take them, all the way until the glitter of the Shattered Pool called them down to the earth. There they were accepted with open arms into the Covenant of Ichor. Opal settled in quickly with her life among friends and allies, but Shatter soon found herself restless. After years of training, her sister had finally left to serve the gods' war. And for the first time in her life, Opal was alone.

This loneliness did not last long, thankfully, as she had nestled herself into an integral niche of clan dynamics. Friendly big sister and guardian of the clan, Opal took much pride in training hatchlings, gossiping with friends, and most of all, keeping the lair tidy and orderly. The letters she had received weekly from Shatter of her travels and triumphs kept her spirits high and their bond unbreakable.
Until those letters stopped arriving.

During Imperanguis' dispute with the clan, he had left a very specific threat in store for Opal. One that hinted he knew something, or possibly even did something to Shatter. Opal was outraged by this, and vowed upon her spirit and pride as a guardian that she would find Shatter and put an end to Imperanguis' impunity for once and for all.
